Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

A Business Rules Management System for Fixed Assets

open access: yesData, 2019
The goal of this paper is to discuss the necessity of separating decision rules from domain model implementation. (1) Background: can rules help to discover hidden connections between data?

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Hybrid approach to building decision support system

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
Decision support systems where the results of deduction on rules are supplemented with Case-based Reasoning results are another step forward in comparison with models which are supporting only single knowledge paradigm.

Ontological Airspace-Situation Awareness for Decision System Support

open access: yesAerospace
Air Traffic Management (ATM) has become complicated mainly due to the increase and variety of input information from Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) systems as well as the proliferation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) requiring ...

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
