The Advanced Knowledge Transfer System

open access: yes, 1995
The joint application of decision tables and Prolog seems to meet all the necessary requirements to be met by a language or modelling knowledge. Despite the high complementarity of decision tables and Prolog, it appears that they still yield a language ...

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

TableExtractNet: A Model of Automatic Detection and Recognition of Table Structures from Unstructured Documents

open access: yesInformatics
This paper presents TableExtractNet, a model that automatically finds and understands tables from scanned documents, tasks that are essential for quick use of information in many fields. This is driven by the growing need for efficient and accurate table

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Representing fuzzy decision tables in a fuzzy relational database environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
In this paper the representation of decision tables in a relational database environment is discussed. First, crisp decision tables are defined. Afterwards a technique to represent decision tables in a relational system is presented.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A Tool for Modelling Business Behaviour Using Decision Tables

open access: yes, 2019
© 2019 IEEE. Decision tables have been recently recognised as an effective technique to model business behaviour. The increasing adoption of decision tables in this context requires appropriate end-user support. Although several tools have been developed

Social context during moral decision-making impacts males more than females

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Moral judgments are often viewed as the outcome of affective and deliberative processes that could be impacted by social factors and individual characteristics. The purpose of this study was to examine the interaction between gender and social context on

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
