Sublime isterico, estremismo tragico, posthuman, massimalismo: su alcune declinazioni contemporanee

open access: yesCoSMO, 2016
Starting from a discussion of the controversial notion of postmodern sublime, the paper deals with some contemporary declinations and transformations of this thorny category: the camp sublime, which can be compared with Jameson’s hysterical sublime or ...

Precise absolute astrometry from the VLBA imaging and polarimetry survey at 5 GHz

open access: yes, 2011
We present in this paper accurate positions of 857 sources derived from the astrometric analysis of 16 eleven-hour experiments from the Very Long Baseline Array imaging and polarimetry survey at 5 GHz (VIPS).

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Galactic and extragalactic contributions to the astrophysical muon neutrino signal

open access: yes, 2016
Spectral and anisotropy properties of IceCube astrophysical neutrino signal reveal an evidence for a significant Galactic contribution to the neutrino flux in Southern hemisphere.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Knowledge management and resilience of urban and territorial systems

open access: yesTechne, 2018
The concept of resilience related to the built environment, thus to urban and territorial scales, counts today a multiplicity of declinations and applications: with respect to these scales, the paper deals with the central role of information for the ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

L’antropotecnica e le sue declinazioni in Sloterdijk (Anthropotechnics and its declinations in Sloterdijk) [PDF]

open access: yesPolis: Revista de Stiinte Politice, 2016
Sloterdijk considers human beings to be the only beings that have succeeded in detaching themselves from the evolutionary development of their own species by means of a new way of relating with the environment that surrounds them.
