Bioinspired Bromination Enables Extensible, Strain‐Stiffening Resilin Peptide Scaffolds with Tunable Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioinspired bromination of a resilin‐derived peptide enables the fabrication of electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds that uniquely combine strain‐stiffening elasticity, proteolytic stability, and antioxidant functionality. These brominated peptide–gelatin hybrids mimic the extensibility of natural elastomers, demonstrating tunable mechanical resilience ...

Optimal PSF Estimation for Simple Optical System Using a Wide-Band Sensor Based on PSF Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Simple optical system imaging is a method to simplify optical systems by removing aberrations using image deconvolution. The point spread function (PSF) used in deconvolution is an important factor that affects the image quality. However, it is difficult

Generating Cell Surface Nucleated Hydrogels with an Artificial Membrane‐Binding Transglutaminase

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell‐based therapies require advanced strategies to enhance cell delivery and bioactivity. Cell membrane engineering offers an avenue to impart new functions to delivered cells to boost their viability and function. Here, an artificial membrane‐binding transglutaminase is generated and biophysically characterized.

BGS Distribution Deformation in BOTDR Induced by Self-Phase Modulation

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors
We report the numerical and experimental studies of the two-dimensional Brillouin gain spectrum (BGS) distribution deformation induced by the self-phase modulation in the Brillouin optical time domain reflectometry (BOTDR) with a 20.6 km sensing distance.

Smarter Sensors Through Machine Learning: Historical Insights and Emerging Trends across Sensor Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights how machine learning (ML) algorithms are employed to enhance sensor performance, focusing on gas and physical sensors such as haptic and strain devices. By addressing current bottlenecks and enabling simultaneous improvement of multiple metrics, these approaches pave the way toward next‐generation, real‐world sensor applications.

USO DE LA ESPECTROSCOPIA IR PARA ESTUDIAR LA TRANSFORMACIÓN TÉRMICA QUE EXPERIMENTA UNA ARCILLA CAOLINÍTICA USO DA ESPECTROSCOPIA IV PARA ESTUDAR A TRANSFORMAÇÃO TÉRMICA QUE EXPERIMENTA UMA ARGILA CAOLINÍTICA USING IR SPECTROSCOPY TO STUDY THE THERMAL TRANSFORMATION EXPERIENCED BY A KAOLINITIC CLAY

open access: yesRevista EIA, 2012
Para potenciar el uso de la materia prima local (La Tetilla, Cauca) es necesario conocer más sus características estructurales y su comportamiento frente a ciertos tratamientos, entre ellos los térmicos.

Deconvolution of point processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The superposition of two independent point processes can be described by multiplication of their probability generating functionals (p.g.fl.s). The inverse operation, which can be viewed as a deconvolution, is defined by dividing the superposed process ...

Exciton Binding Energy Modulation in 2D Perovskites: A Phenomenological Keldysh Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The intrinsic screening effects are successfully decoupled from structural distortion by rigorously designing a series of 2D perovskites. This enabled us to demonstrate how the dielectric environment modulates the quasiparticle bandgap and exciton binding energy.

Focused Blind Deconvolution

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2019
We introduce a novel multichannel blind deconvolution (BD) method that extracts sparse and front-loaded impulse responses from the channel outputs, i.e., their convolutions with a single arbitrary source. A crucial feature of this formulation is that it doesn't encode support restrictions on the unknowns, unlike most prior work on BD. The indeterminacy

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...
