Implications of Land-Grabbing on the Ecological Balance of Brazil
In the global free-market, natural resource scarcity and opportunities for preserving the local environment are fostering international purchasing of large extensions of land, mainly for agricultural use.

Loop effects and non-decoupling property of SUSY QCD in $g b\to tH^{-}$ [PDF]
One-loop SUSY QCD radiative correction to $gb \to tH^{-}$ cross section is calculated in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We found that SUSY QCD is non-decoupling if the gluino mass and the parameter $\mu$, $A_t$ or $A_b$ are at the same order ...

Decoupling and Parameter Extraction Methods for Conical Micro-Motion Object Based on FMCW Lidar
Micro-Doppler time–frequency analysis has been regarded as an important parameter extraction method for conical micro-motion objects. However, the micro-Doppler effect caused by micro-motion can modulate the frequency of lidar echo, leading to coupling ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Continuous Decoupling of Dynamically Expanding Systems
The question of decoupling and freeze-out is reinvestigated and analysed in terms of transparent semi-classical decoupling formulae, which provide a smooth decoupling in time both, for single and two particle inclusive spectra. They generalise frequently

Non-minimal matter couplings have recently been considered in the context of massive gravity and multi-gravity. These couplings are free of the Boulware-Deser ghost in the decoupling limit and can thus be considered within an Effective Field Theory setup.

Local relativistic exact decoupling [PDF]
We present a systematic hierarchy of approximations for local exact decoupling of four-component quantum chemical Hamiltonians based on the Dirac equation. Our ansatz reaches beyond the trivial local approximation that is based on a unitary transformation of only the atomic block-diagonal part of the Hamiltonian.

We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

A critical approach to achieving dual carbon targets is to maintain strong decoupling (SD) between land use carbon emissions (LUCE) and ecological environment quality (EEQ).

Encoded Recoupling and Decoupling: An Alternative to Quantum Error Correcting Codes, Applied to Trapped Ion Quantum Computation [PDF]
A recently developed theory for eliminating decoherence and design constraints in quantum computers, ``encoded recoupling and decoupling'', is shown to be fully compatible with a promising proposal for an architecture enabling scalable ion-trap quantum ...
