Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma of the Transverse Colon

The American Surgeon™, 2021
While liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas, it is rarely seen within the gastrointestinal tract, and even less frequently seen within the colon. Dedifferentiated liposarcoma is a subtype of liposarcoma, which along with the pleomorphic subtype is considered a high-grade, aggressive tumor; both possess the ability to metastasize ...

Superficial dedifferentiated liposarcoma: A clinicopathologic study.

Human Pathology
INTRODUCTION Dedifferentiation occurs in approximately 10% of atypical lipomatous tumors/well-differentiated liposarcomas (ALT/WDLPS), primarily in retroperitoneal or deep-seated tumors, conferring metastatic potential.

The association between CD34 expression status and the clinicopathological behavior of dedifferentiated liposarcoma.

Pathology, Research and Practice
Lipogenic and fibrous tumors are thought to originate from CD34-positive stromal fibroblastic/fibrocystic cells. Well-differentiated lipogenic tumors typically express CD34, whereas dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) often loses it.

Heterologous Elements in the Dedifferentiated Component of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1994
Five cases of dedifferentiated liposarcoma in which heterologous elements were present in the dedifferentiated component are presented. Two patients, men 54 and 66 years of age, had retroperitoneal atypical lipomatous tumors (well-differentiated liposarcomas) that recurred (after 2.5 and 12 years, respectively) as dedifferentiated liposarcomas with ...

Dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the oral cavity with angiosarcomatous dedifferentiation

Virchows Archiv, 2005
We report a unique case of a 42-year-old woman with a dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the soft tissue of the oral cavity with angiosarcomatous dedifferentiation. Liposarcomas compromising the head and neck region are very unusual, and most of the cases in oral cavity show a well-differentiated pattern.

Dedifferentiated liposarcoma with rhabdomyoblastic differentiation

Virchows Archiv, 2005
Dedifferentiated areas of dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDL) usually show malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH)- or fibrosarcoma-like features and lack any histologic signs of specific differentiation. However, some reports have demonstrated specific differentiation in these areas, with histologic features resembling those of rhabdomyosarcoma ...

Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma Masquerading as Rhabdomyosarcoma

Applied Immunohistochemistry & Molecular Morphology, 2017
We present a rare case of retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) masquerading as rhabdomyosarcoma. The patient was a 74-year-old man, complaining a loss of appetite. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a retroperitoneal mass, 10 cm in diameter, between the liver and the right adrenal gland.

Well-differentiated and dedifferentiated liposarcomas

Virchows Archiv, 2009
Atypical lipomatous tumor or well-differentiated liposarcoma (ALT-WDLPS) and dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) share the same basic genetic abnormality characterized by a simple genomic profile with a 12q14-15 amplification involving MDM2 gene. These tumors are the most frequent LPS.

Dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the spermatic cord

BMJ Case Reports
A man in his 60s presented to an outside hospital with persistent groin pain and a scrotal mass which was thought to be a recurrent hernia. Three months after initial presentation, the patient was found to have dedifferentiated liposarcoma (LPS) of the spermatic cord.

The Ultrastructure of Liposarcomas with Attention to "Dedifferentiation"

Ultrastructural Pathology, 1997
Liposarcomas are among the most common soft tissue sarcomas. It is recognized that dedifferentiation can occur within a well-differentiated liposarcoma, but there is limited information concerning the ultrastructure of the dedifferentiated cells. A series of 8 cases has been studied by light and electron microscopy and compared with well-differentiated,
