Retrofitting of shear strength self-compacting reinforced concrete deep beams with FRP
Experimental program were carried out to investigate the behavior of self-compacting reinforced concrete deep beams retrofitting with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). Six simply supported deep beams were tested under symmetrically two point loads,

Experimental Investigations of RC Deep Beams Strengthened in Shear using NSM CFRP System [PDF]
This paper presents the test results of an experimental study that investigates the behavior of RC deep beams strengthened in shear with externally bonded (EB) and near surface mounted (NSM) techniques using CFRP strip.

Global Efforts to Reduce Paediatric Cancer Care Disparities in Radiotherapy: A Decade Change
ABSTRACT Background We present an update on the status, needs and challenges faced by paediatric imaging and radiotherapy (RT) programmes globally after a previous survey conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 10 years prior. Methods We developed and distributed a 121‐question survey to radiation oncologists, medical physicists and ...

Nonparaxial accelerating Bessel-like beams [PDF]
A new class of nonparaxial accelerating optical waves is introduced. These are beams with a Bessel-like profile that are capable of shifting laterally along fairly arbitrary trajectories as the wave propagates in free space.

Maximum Shear Strength Limit for Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams
Although it is widely known that the shear strength of reinforced concrete (RC) deep beams is higher than that of general RC beams to which Bernoulli’s assumption can be applied, the maximum shear strength limit of deep beams is identical to that of ...

Deep beams are loaded as a simple beam in which the load is taken to the supports by a compressive force. Beam is classified as a deep beam if the beam has a depth larger than quarter of the clear span.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.
