The neural milieu of the developing choroid plexus: neural stem cells, neurons and innervation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The choroid plexus produces cerebrospinal fluid and plays an important role in brain homeostasis both pre and postnatally. In vitro studies have suggested that cells from adult choroid plexus have stem/progenitor cell-like properties. Our initial aim was

Overlap between telangiectasia and photoreceptor loss increases with progression of macular telangiectasia type 2.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
ObjectivesTo examine the topographical correlation between ellipsoid zone loss and telangiectasia in the deep capillary plexus in patients with macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel).Methods38 eyes (20 subjects) diagnosed with MacTel were imaged with ...

Quantitative analysis of retinal microvascular changes in macular telangiectasia type 2 using optical coherence tomography angiography.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
PURPOSE:To evaluate retinal vascular changes on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in patients with macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel 2) and to assess their correlation with visual acuity.

Overcoming Drug Resistance by Paclitaxel Resistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the murine triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) model, chemotherapy effectively increases tumor neoantigen burden (TNB). Here, the study constructs a liposomal nanovaccine using antigens derived from in vitro chemotherapy‐treated paclitaxel‐resistant TNBC 4T1 cells.

Bilateral Type 1 Idiopathic Macular Telangiectasia in a Female Patient: Multimodal Imaging of a Rare Presentation

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2021
We report a bilateral case of type 1 idiopathic macular telangiectasia (IMT) in a female patient. A 40-year-old otherwise healthy female with gradual vision loss since 2 years ago with best-corrected visual acuity of 20/400 in both eyes was referred. Her

Intrasplenic Thymus Organogenesis from Injectable Tissue Fragments Restores Functional T‐Cell Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clinical intramuscular thymus transplantation yields only short‐lived efficacy and marginal therapeutic benefits. Benefiting from the spleen's intrinsic strengths—rapid vascular perfusion, abundant developmental factors, and resident progenitors—the intrasplenic thymic grafts achieve robust thymic regeneration and substantial T‐cell reconstitution ...

Late PAMM-Like Lesions in a Patient with HIV Retinopathy

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2023
This report describes a case of a newly diagnosed 49-year-old HIV patient, who presented with decreased visual acuity and retinal lesions characterized by ischemia at the level of the deep retinal capillary plexus, documented with optical coherence ...

Niche‐Mediated Neural Priming Enables Robust and Scalable Generation of Human Choroid Plexus Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Compared to E8, mTeSR1 culture downregulated WNT and TGF‑β signaling, and upregulated neural differentiation pathways, enhancing neural priming. Under skin organoid induction conditions, mTeSR1‑cultured hESCs generated organoids with significantly higher neuroepithelial differentiation.
