Quantitative Identification and Distribution Pattern of Macrolithotype of Coal in Deep Coal Seams of the Daji Block

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 10, Page 4839-4852, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The construction of a logging response model for macrolithotypes in coal has been successfully completed. This model has enabled delineation of vertical and planar distribution patterns of coal macrolithotypes within the #5 and #8 coal seams of the Daji block, as well as to forecast the distribution of favorable reservoir conditions.

In situ loading of a pore network model for quantitative characterization and visualization of gas seepage in coal rocks

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 437-451, September 2025.
Fine modeling of a three‐dimensional fracture structure under dynamic loading of coal is carried out. The streamline distribution law of pressure and velocity field in the loading process of the coal specimen is analyzed, the absolute permeability of the coal specimen is calculated, and the feasibility of the pore network model algorithm and finite ...

Experimental Study on Prevention of Coal and Gas Outburst by Hydraulic Fracturing in High Gas Coal Mine in Yangquan Mining Area

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 7, Page 3631-3643, July 2025.
ABSTRACT To investigate the hydraulic fracturing mechanism of high‐fluid wells in the Yangquan mining area, coal seams from the Xinyuan and Xinjing mines were selected as research subjects. Experiments were conducted using the TCQT‐III low‐permeability coalbed gas‐phase displacement and production enhancement apparatus, along with the FINESORB‐3120 ...

Numerical Simulation of Deep Coalbed Methane Development Based on Embedded Discrete Fracture Model: A Triple Medium Flow Approach

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 3045-3062, June 2025.
ABSTRACT China is rich in coalbed methane resources, especially with significant potential for deep coalbed methane development. As shallow coalbed methane resources gradually deplete, the development of deep coalbed methane has become a research focus.
