Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.

Dynamic Confinement Approach for High Metal Loading Single‐Atom Catalysts Based on Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We introduced a new synthetic strategy for the preparation of high metal loading crystalline single‐atom catalysts based on covalent organic frameworks with atomically distributed Pd ions and metal contents of up to 22.2 wt%. Theoretical simulations reveal that the crystalline framework dynamically confines Pd atoms between different binding sites ...

Stage‐Specific Roles of Deep Eutectic Solvents in Recycling of Spent Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) offer tunable acidity, redox, and coordination properties for selective recycling of spent lithium‐ion battery cathodes. Through co‐dissolution, single‐ and two‐metal separations, DESs enable sustainable recovery of critical metals for closed‐loop regeneration of battery‐grade materials, advancing a circular economy for ...

Phase change material integrated core–shell catalyst for in situ thermal control in methanol synthesis from syngas

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract A model‐guided core–shell catalyst design is presented for methanol synthesis, featuring a phase change material (PCM) core encapsulated by a Cu–Zn–Al2$$ {}_2 $$O3$$ {}_3 $$ (CZA) catalytic shell. The PCM enables in situ thermal management by absorbing reaction heat at its melting point, mitigates the kinetic decline at high temperatures and ...

Molecular‐Scale Tuning of Low‐Molecular‐Weight Gelators Controls Supramolecular Assembly and Directs Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell Growth

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Chemistry in charge of biology! Simple low‐molecular‐weight gelators, with minor modifications in molecular structure, self‐assemble differently and can also co‐assemble when simultaneously triggered. This creates a family of gels with different properties that direct the growth of stem cells in different ways.

Development and systematic evaluation of triamine‐based functional deep eutectic solvents for efficient CO2 capture

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The development of advanced absorbents for effectively capturing carbon dioxide is crucial in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. This study introduced a series of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for CO2 capture and identified the most promising DESs with the stepwise screening method based on their absorption capacity, absorption rate, thermal
