A Deep Learning Approach for Efficient Palm Reading
2020 International Conference on Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence (TAAI), 2020Palmistry or palm reading is the art of foretelling and characterizing persons through the study of palm lines and patterns. However, this field is still not much technically developed and a palmist has to analyze palms personally and manually. In this paper, we have proposed a deep learning approach to automatically detect patterns inside palm images.

Reading Psychology, 2007
Freire told his audience at a seminar at the University of Massachusetts, “You need to read knee-deep in texts, for deeper than surface meanings, and you need to know the words to be able to do it” (quoted in Cleary, 2003). In a children's literature class, fifteen teachers and I traveled along a path that moved us toward reading knee-deep as we peered

Deep Dyslexia Is Right-Hemisphere Reading
Brain and Language, 2000Two views exist concerning the proper interpretation of the form of acquired dyslexia known as deep dyslexia: (a) that it represents reading by a multiply damaged left hemisphere reading system; (b) that it represents reading which relies extensively on right-hemisphere orthographic and semantic processing. Price, Howard, Patterson, Warburton, Friston,

Chapter Two Deep Reading and the Space of the Classroom
2011The West Side experiment helped to formulate the strong belief anchoring this book that natural language and linguistic narrative are central to human identity and purpose and that language and story should remain the primary focus for educational development and pedagogical activity in the 21st-century classroom.

Right-hemisphere reading in a case of developmental deep dyslexia
Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2007The right-hemisphere hypothesis of deep dyslexia has received support from functional imaging studies of acquired deep dyslexia following damage to the left cerebral hemisphere, but no imaging studies of cases of developmental deep dyslexia, in which brain damage is not suspected, have been reported. In this paper, we report the first evidence of right

Lip-Reading Based on Deep Learning Model
2019With the rapid development of computer computing power, deep learning plays a more and more important role in the fields of automatic driving, medical research, industrial automation and so on. In order to improve the accuracy of lip-reading recognition, an algorithm based on the model of lip deep learning was proposed in this paper.

“Global in Spirit”: Deep Reading Transgenre
QED: A Journal in GLBTQ Worldmaking, 2022Abstract In this article, I theorize the notion of “transgenre” in which “trans” indexes multiple possibilities: i.e., an analysis of transgender cultural production through the more explicitly mediated logics of transnational racial capitalism.
