Generation of intense ultrashort deep ultraviolet pulses at 200 nm
We report the generation of intense deep ultraviolet pulses at 200 nm with a duration of 48 fs and a pulse energy of 130 μJ, achieved via cascaded sum-frequency generation using 800 nm femtosecond pulses in barium borate crystals.

Deep ultraviolet and visible crystalloluminescence of sodium chloride [PDF]
A protocol has been developed for production of intense crystalloluminescence (XTL) from sodium chloride in aqueous solution by selective doping with transition metal salts (Ag+, Cu2+, and Dy3+). The method was used to record complete, fully dispersed deep UV–visible (200–650 nm) XTL spectra of sodium chloride for the first time.
