Strength Distribution and Damage Constitutive Model of Frozen Sand under Rate-Dependent Evolution
Study of the compressive strength and damage constitutive model of frozen sand has an important significance for construction design and prevention-control of soil destabilization damage in frozen soil engineering. In this paper, a new triaxial apparatus

Stability Analysis of Surrounding Rock in Deep Underground Engineering Under Fluid-solid Interaction
The geological environment of deep rock masses is extreme and complex, characterized by typical deep geological features such as high geostress, high permeation water pressure, and high geotemperature. Geological disasters like water and mud inrush, high-intensity rock bursts, and large-volume collapses occur frequently in engineering construction ...

Research on Stability of an Open-Pit Mine Dump with Fiber Optic Monitoring
China has over 1500 open-pit mines and 5000 dumps consisting of waste rock from the mining process. Due to dump instability in an open-pit mine and its diverse foundations, landslides and mudslides frequently occur.

The study of rockburst criterion is the key to predict the occurrence of rockburst. Based on the energy principle, a new multi-parameter rockburst criterion (RPC) were established. The accuracy and applicability of some typical rockburst engineering examples in China were verified by using some classical rockburst criteria and the newly proposed RPC ...

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

Red‐emissive carbon dots (R‐CDs) exhibiting aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) and aggregation‐caused quenching (ACQ) effects are synthesized from citric acid and urea. They display weak blue fluorescence in water but strong red emission in DMF due to aggregation.

Asymmetry in Skipping Enhances Viability Against Control Input Noise
Quadruped animals use asymmetric galloping gaits at high speeds, yet the functional role of this asymmetry remains unclear. This study shows that left–right asymmetry in touchdown angles enhances robustness to control noise. Using a simple two‐legged locomotion model and viability theory, it demonstrates that asymmetric skipping substantially enlarges ...
