Defect-Driven Heterogeneous Electron Transfer between an Individual Graphene Sheet and Electrode
Understanding the heterogeneous electron-transfer (ET) kinetics on graphene is essential for its extensive applications. Here, on the basis of the redox-induced fluorescence variation of monolayer graphene itself, the heterogeneous ET kinetics at the ...

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Posterior Cortical Atrophy in the Asia‐Pacific: A Report From the PCA Asian Workgroup
ABSTRACT Objective Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) is a distinct dementia syndrome primarily affecting spatial abilities and visual processing. It is associated with degeneration in the posterior part of the brain. PCA is subclassified into PCA‐pure and PCA‐plus syndromes based on consensus criteria.

Defect-Assisted Photoemission in the hBN and TMDs/hBN Heterostructures
Ultrafast electron pulses have broad applications in the investigation of the ultrafast dynamics of materials and near-field nanophotonics. A hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) photoemission source has been proposed recently, characterized by a nanoscale ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Repair Techniques for Hybrid Nano/CMOS Computational Architecture
—Presence of high defect rate in nanofabrics due to the inadequate fabrication processes has held back the development of emerging technology architecture. In this work, we propose two repair techniques to provide high level of defect tolerance in lookup

ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...
