A Case of a “Defective” ABO Group

Vox Sanguinis, 1961
SummaryA 20‐year old healthy male was found to have an irregular ABO group. His cells behaved as group O, but anti‐B was the only detectable iso‐agglutinin in the serum. He was a secretor of H substance but not of A substance. Some more or less reasonable explanations of the findings are suggested.RésuméLes auteurs ont découvert chez un jeune homme de ...

Defects and defect identification in group III-nitrides

Materials Science and Engineering: B, 2000
In this paper the shallow donors oxygen and silicon in GaN and AlGaN and the problem of DX formation are reviewed. New experimental results obtained by optically detected magnetic resonance are presented which clarify the behavior of Mg acceptors in GaN.

Estimating the number of defectives with group testing

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2016
Estimating the number of defective elements of a set has various biological applications including estimating the prevalence of a disease or disorder. Group testing has been shown to be more efficient than scrutinizing each element separately for defectiveness.

Abelian Defect Groups

2014
A result by Brauer and Feit bounds the number of irreducible characters in a block by the square of the order of the defect group. We improve this bound for blocks with abelian defect groups. The proof uses results about regular orbits under coprime actions.

Small Defect Groups

2014
We use the results from the previous chapters in order to gain complete information about blocks with small defect groups. We also make use of the Cartan method. As an outcome, we give a complete description of the 2-blocks of defect at most 4. Additionally, we investigate some of the defect groups of order 32.

Metacyclic Defect Groups

2014
As the first application of the general methods we classify blocks with metacyclic defect groups. Here in case p = 2 we obtain an almost complete result due to various authors. In the odd case we give a proof of Brauer’s k(B)-Conjecture, Olsson’s Conjecture and Brauer’s Height Zero Conjecture.
