Characteristic modes of a slot antenna design based on defected ground structure for 5G applications [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This study employs characteristic mode analysis to investigate a defected ground antenna for multiband applications. The antenna structure incorporates three U-shaped slots in the ground plane, forming a defected ground structure.

A Terahertz CMOS V-Shaped Patch Antenna with Defected Ground Structure [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this paper, a V-shaped patch antenna with defected ground structure is proposed at terahertz to overcome the limited performance of a standard complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) patch antenna consisting of several metal layers and very ...

Defected Ground Structure: Fundamentals, Analysis, and Applications in Modern Wireless Trends

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2017
Slots or defects integrated on the ground plane of microwave planar circuits are referred to as Defected Ground Structure. DGS is adopted as an emerging technique for improving the various parameters of microwave circuits, that is, narrow bandwidth ...

A Serial Feeding Network with Defected Ground Structure

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2014
A novel serial feeding network with Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is proposed in this paper. The stripline feed network uses multilayer board laminated structure and DGS on the surface.

Lowpass filter with reduced fractal defected ground structure

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2013
Presented is the design of a planar lowpass filter with stubs separated by transmission lines. To minimise dimensions, the filter is completed by a fractal defected‐ground structure (DGS). The fractal DGS filter requires a 20% smaller substrate compared to a conventional filter with stubs.

Novel Compact and High Selectivity Dual-band BPF with Wide Stopband [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2012
A novel type of compact and high selectivity dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) incorporating a dual-mode defected ground structure resonator (DDGSR) and a dual-mode open-stub loaded stepped impedance resonator (DOLSIR) is proposed in this paper.

Design of High Performance Microstrip Dual-Band Bandpass Filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents a new design of dual-band bandpass filters using coupled stepped-impedance resonators for wireless systems. This architecture uses multiple couple stubs to tune the passband frequencies and the filter characteristics are improved ...

MINIATURIZED MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA WITH DEFECTED GROUND STRUCTURE [PDF]

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research C, 2014
The aim of this work is to miniaturize a microstrip patch antenna resonating at 3 GHz. For this purpose, defected ground structure (DGS) has been employed to shift the resonance frequency of an initial microstrip antenna from 5.7 GHz to 3 GHz by disturbing the antenna's current distribution.
