Ultra-wideband hexagonal MIMO antenna with Defected Ground Structure (DGS)

In this paper, a compact planar Multiple Input Multiple Output antenna system of size 36 mm × 40 mm with two hexagonal monopole elements with L shaped slots is proposed. The UWB operation is achieved by a semicircular shaped Defected Ground Structure (DGS) and the shape of the DGS is optimized to get good return loss.

In this letter, an ultra broadband antenna (UWB) loaded with defected ground structure (DGS) is presented. The UWB antenna with circle radiation patch is fed with 50Ohm mictostrip line.
