Mutual coupling reduction using defected ground structure (DGS) for array applications

2012 15 International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 2012
In this paper, a compact dumbbell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is applied to reduce the mutual coupling between array elements with 0.47 λ 0 elements spacing. The dumbbell DGS is inserted in the E-plane between the adjacent array coupled elements to suppress the pronounced surface waves.

Compact Circular Patch Antennas Using Slots And Defected Ground Structure (DGS)

2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE), 2019
This research paper contains different compact circular patch antennas. Slots of different structure and Defected Ground Structure (DGS) have been introduced on a normal circular patch to achieve compactness. Six compact antennas i.e. Antenna-AA, Antenna-BB, Antenna-CC and Antenna-DD, Antenna-EE and Antenna-FF have been designed with different level of

3GHz hairpin filter with Defected Ground Structure (DGS) for Microwave Imaging application

2014 International Conference on Computer, Communications, and Control Technology (I4CT), 2014
This paper represents design of 3GHz hairpin filter with Defected Ground Structure (DGS) for Microwave Imaging application by using Advanced Design System (ADS) software and FR4 substrate. Hairpin filter is one of the most popular microwave filters because of its compactness.

A compact narrow band microstrip bandpass filter with defected ground structure (DGS)

2012 National Conference on Communications (NCC), 2012
In this paper, a compact narrow band bandpass filter is proposed with hexagonal dumbbell shaped defected ground structure in ground plane of a 50Ω microstrip line and a closed loop resonator in the conducting strip. This arrangement provides better coupling in pass band.

Direct and cross-coupled resonator filters using defected ground structure (DGS) resonators

2005 European Microwave Conference, 2005
This paper introduces DGS resonators to be used as building blocks of coupled resonator filters. Different coupling configurations are considered. These new resonators are then applied to design a multilayer second-order coupled resonator bandpass Chebychev filter and a fourth order cross-coupled resonator pseudo-elliptic filter.

Analysis and synthesis of defected ground structures (DGS) using transmission line theory

2005 European Microwave Conference, 2005
This paper presents a T-shaped DGS which has a wider range of gap capacitance due to two adjacent conductor strips protruded into the dumbbell-shaped DGS. In addition, this structure is completely analyzed and its design equations are provided using transmission line theory.

Using defected ground structure (DGS) to improve nonuniform microstrip bandpass filters' performance

2017 Internet Technologies and Applications (ITA), 2017
In this paper, nonuniform bandpass filter with defected ground structure is presented. The width of the designed filter, with U shape and nonuniform, shape is obtained using an optimization process. Additionally, multiband is obtained by using defected ground structure (DGS).

Analysis of T-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) using closed-form expressions

Proceedings. ICCEA 2004. 2004 3rd International Conference on Computational Electromagnetics and Its Applications, 2004., 2005
We propose a T-shaped DGS which has a much wider range of gap capacitance than the dumbbell-shaped one. In addition, we provide closed-form expressions for the 3-dB bandwidth and radiation rate in terms of the equivalent circuit elements for conventional analysis.
