Diamond-shaped microstrip patch antenna with defected ground structure

2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017
In this study, a broadband microstrip diamond-shaped patch antenna is designed for broadband communication. The results are presented by simulating microstrip patch antenna at 3.675 GHz and 10.35 GHz frequencies. The antenna was simulated in the frequency range of 1–15 GHz. S11, the input reflection coefficient parameter has a value of −14.63 dB at the

Design of H-shape Defected Ground Structure

2020 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM), 2020
This paper presents the design of an H-shape defected ground structure (DGS). Full EM-wave simulation of the design was carried out by using the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software. The influence of some DGS design parameters on the resonant frequency was simulated and studied.

Quasi-static modeling of defected ground structure

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2006
A quasi-static equivalent-circuit model of a dumbbell-shaped defected ground structure is developed. The equivalent-circuit model is derived from the equivalent inductance and capacitance developed due to the perturbed return current path on the ground and the narrow gap, respectively. The theory is validated against the commercial full-wave solver CST

Effects of a Lumped Element on Defected Ground Structures

30th European Microwave Conference, 2000, 2000
In this paper, effects of a lumped element on a DGS (Defected Ground Structure), which is etched on the metallic ground plane, were investigated. In order to demonstrate effects of a lumped element, which is placed on DGS section, we proposed a DGS with a dumbbell shape and implemented a parallel resonator with the proposed DGS.

2D defected ground structures in microstrip line

2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC), 2012
In this paper, two-dimensional (2D) defected ground structures (DGS) are proposed in microstrip line. The dumbbell structure is added as a unit-cell in a systematic manner in both horizontal and vertical directions to construct the 2D-DGS. This technique best utilizes the area to get very low stop band frequencies.

Design a microstrip antenna with defected ground structure

2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC), 2015
In this paper, a compact design for bandwidth enhancement of microstrip antenna is present. A basic rectangle microstrip is selected to research. The ground element of the proposed antenna is taken in the form of Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The antenna is based on substance Duroid RO4700JXR and is fed by a feeding microstrip line. The results of a

Modeling of bandpass filter using defected ground structure and defected microstrip structure

Journal of Computational Electronics, 2013
In this present work a novel concept for designing of tunable bandpass filter has been introduced with the help of end coupled microstrip transmission line, defected ground structure (DGS) and defected microstrip structure (DMS). Utilizing this concept, one bandpass filter of 8 GHz center frequency with 30 % fractional bandwidth (FBW) at ?3 dB has been

A microstrip antenna based on the defected ground structure

2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013), 2013
The microstrip antenna is widely used in our life now for its low profile, simple structure, low cost and omnidirectional radiation patterns. But the drawbacks of this kind antenna also sometimes confine their applications, especially the narrow bandwidth. In this paper, a microstrip antenna with the defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed.

Electrically small antenna with defected ground structure

2012 42nd European Microwave Conference, 2012
In this paper, a dumbbell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed to suppress higher order harmonics of an electrically small antenna. A slot loading technique is applied to a well-know low-profile antenna, the area miniaturization of a semi circular microstrip patch antenna by inserting a number of slits parallel to the radiating edges, is ...

A Multiband Wearable Antenna with Defected Ground Structure

2019 URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC), 2019
This work presents the design of a multi-band wearable monopole patch antenna integrated with a defected ground structure. The designed antenna operates over four distinct frequencies viz., 2.12 GHz, 4.78 GHz, 5.57 GHz and 6.11 GHz with the respective fractional bandwidths of 0.94%, 1.04%, 2.5% and 8.18%.
