Compact bandstop filter using defected ground structure (DGS)

2011 Saudi International Electronics, Communications and Photonics Conference (SIECPC), 2011
This paper presents a new structure to implement compact bandstop filters by employing coupled DGS resonators etched in the ground plane. The proposed bandstop filter consists of symmetrical DGS resonators with a microstrip excitation to obtain a bandstop filter response.

Investigation of novel tapered hybrid defected ground structure (DGS)

International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, 2005
Novel defected ground structures (DGSs) have been investigated to achieve improved low-pass filter (LPF) properties. A chronological development in designs ranging from conventional square-patterned photonic-bandgap structure (PBGS) and conventional dumbbell-shaped DGS to proposed novel nonuniform DGS has been investigated theoretically and ...

Analysis and realization of defected ground structure (DGS) on bandpass filter

2014 5th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS), 2014
An end-coupled line bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed and designed by placing defected ground structure (DGS) in the ground plane. DGS is used for its property of miniaturizing the size of microwave filter and also improving the mutual coupling between the resonators.

Reconfigurable bandstop filter using Defected Ground Structure (DGS)

2013 Saudi International Electronics, Communications and Photonics Conference, 2013
The paper presents a new compact reconfigurable bandstop filter using Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The proposed reconfigurable bandstop filter is constructed by employing coupled DGS resonators etched in the ground plane. The bandstop filter consists of symmetrical DGS resonators with a microstrip excitation to obtain a bandstop filter response ...

Design of reconfigurable defected ground structure (DGS) for UWB application

2012 IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Applied Electromagnetics (APACE), 2012
This paper presents the design of reconfigurable defected ground structure (DGS) resonator that can be integrated with ultrawide-band (UWB) microwave filter to produce bandpass and bandstop response simultaneously. The reconfigurable DGS is designed based upon coplanar waveguide (CPW) technology to exhibit bandstop characteristic at 3.5 GHz and 5.5 GHz

A novel compact defected ground structure (DGS) low pass filter

2006 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2006
This paper introduces new compact defected ground structure (DGS). The equivalent circuit parameters have been extracted using circuit analysis. The proposed DGS has smallest rectangular occupying area and it is 15.3 % more compact than the previously reported structure in the literature.
