Compact multiband microstrip patch antenna using defected ground structure (DGS)
The 8th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2014), 2014In this paper a novel design for miniaturization of patch antenna is presented. The proposed design for the miniaturized wide band patch antenna consists of hybrid techniques of H-shaped slot on the patch and defected ground structure. Defected ground structure is formed by cutting a combination of U and L-shaped slots.

Compact bandpass filters using defected ground structure (DGS) coupled resonators
IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005This paper introduces new compact DGS resonators and ways to implement intra-resonator and external coupling. Different coupling configurations are considered. These new resonators are then applied to design bandpass filters with Chebyshev or pseudo-elliptic responses. Experimental results are presented to show the performance of these filters.

A Compact Microstrip CP Antenna Using Slots and Defected Ground Structure (DGS)
2019 IEEE Indian Conference on Antennas and Propogation (InCAP), 2019A Compact circularly polarized coaxially fed slotted microstrip patch with Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is proposed in this paper. DGS is introduced to increase the effective current path length and miniaturize the antenna. Microstrip patch size is reduced by 40% using the proposed DGS and slots.

High performance THz patch antenna using photonic band gap and defected ground structure

Mutual coupling reduction using defected ground structure (DGS) for array applications
2012 15 International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 2012In this paper, a compact dumbbell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is applied to reduce the mutual coupling between array elements with 0.47 λ 0 elements spacing. The dumbbell DGS is inserted in the E-plane between the adjacent array coupled elements to suppress the pronounced surface waves.
