2D defected ground structures in microstrip line
2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC), 2012In this paper, two-dimensional (2D) defected ground structures (DGS) are proposed in microstrip line. The dumbbell structure is added as a unit-cell in a systematic manner in both horizontal and vertical directions to construct the 2D-DGS. This technique best utilizes the area to get very low stop band frequencies.

Spurious Response Suppression in Microstrip Bandpass Filters Using Defected Microstrip Structures
Electromagnetics, 2012Abstract A new technique for suppressing the spurious passband of microstrip bandpass filters using defected microstrip structures is presented. This new defected microstrip structure resonator is realized by etching an open ring in the microstrip line.

Analysis of microstrip bandstop filter characteristic based on defected microstrip structure
2017 Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Spring (PIERS), 2017Defected microstrip structure (DMS) has similar characteristics to DGS, such as slow-wave characteristic and rejecting microwaves in certain frequencies, which has been applied in microstrip bandstop filter design to obtain good stopband property and decrease the size of the microstrip filter.

Diamond-shaped microstrip patch antenna with defected ground structure
2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017In this study, a broadband microstrip diamond-shaped patch antenna is designed for broadband communication. The results are presented by simulating microstrip patch antenna at 3.675 GHz and 10.35 GHz frequencies. The antenna was simulated in the frequency range of 1–15 GHz. S11, the input reflection coefficient parameter has a value of −14.63 dB at the

A miniaturized dual-band bandstop filter (DBBSF) is proposed by using T-shaped defected microstrip structure (DMS) and U-shaped defected ground structure (DGS). To verify the design concept, the DBBSF is simulated and fabricated. Compared with other published filters, the proposed DBBSF occupies the minimal normalized area.

Investigation on a defected microstrip structure and applications in designing microstrip filters
Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2012A new defected microstrip structure is proposed in this paper. By etching a simple U-shaped slot in the center of microstrip line, a very good bandstop characteristic is exhibited. Its resonant frequency is extracted by transmission line network analysis.

Design a microstrip antenna with defected ground structure
2015 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC), 2015In this paper, a compact design for bandwidth enhancement of microstrip antenna is present. A basic rectangle microstrip is selected to research. The ground element of the proposed antenna is taken in the form of Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The antenna is based on substance Duroid RO4700JXR and is fed by a feeding microstrip line. The results of a

Compact microstrip lowpass filter based on defected ground structure and compensated microstrip line
IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005An improved defected ground structure (DGS) with compensated microstrip line is investigated for low-pass filter (LPF) applications. With this structure, the basic resonant element exhibits the elliptic-function low-pass responses. The use of introduced resonant elements allows sharp cutoff frequency response and high harmonic suppressions together ...

A Novel Spurline Bandstop Filter Using Defected Ground and Defected Microstrip Structures
2008 China-Japan Joint Microwave Conference, 2008In this paper, an improved spurline bandstop filter (BSF) using defected ground structures (DGS) and defected microstrip structures (DMS) is proposed. This method is based on the increment of the slow-wave factor (SWF) when DGS and DMS cells are successfully applied to enhance the out-of-band characteristics of the spurline bandstop filters.
