Design of Microstrip Lowpass Filter Using Defected Ground Structure

2007 17th International Conference Radioelektronika, 2007
A novel microstrip lowpass filter utilizing defected ground structure (DGS) units is presented in this paper. A DGS unit is simulated with different physical dimensions in order to show variation of effective inductance and capacitance. Next, a lowpass filter using proposed DGS unit is designed.

Defected Ground Structure Microstrip Antenna for WiMAX

2019
This paper proposed the microstrip antenna which enhances the bandwidth with the use of defected ground structure (DGS). The study and implementation of proposed antenna are discussed in this paper. With the use of DGS, the bandwidth is increased efficiently to 35.87% as compared to the normal rectangular patch antenna. The proposed antenna is designed

Modeling of bandpass filter using defected ground structure and defected microstrip structure

Journal of Computational Electronics, 2013
In this present work a novel concept for designing of tunable bandpass filter has been introduced with the help of end coupled microstrip transmission line, defected ground structure (DGS) and defected microstrip structure (DMS). Utilizing this concept, one bandpass filter of 8 GHz center frequency with 30 % fractional bandwidth (FBW) at ?3 dB has been

WiMAX bandpass filter using hybrid microstrip Defected-Ground-Structure

2010 IEEE 11th Annual Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference (WAMICON), 2010
A novel and compact WiMAX microstrip bandpass filter is proposed. The filter employs a very wide bandwidth from 2 to 11 GHz under NLOS environment of the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard, and with a 3-dB fractional bandwidth of greater than 138%. The proposed hybrid WiMAX band-pass filter had return loss more than 17 dB in the passband, and also demonstrated ...

Microstrip periodic leaky wave antenna using defected ground structure

2017 Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Fall (PIERS - FALL), 2017
This paper presents a microstrip based Leaky Wave Antenna (LWA) with Defected Ground Structure (DGS). Antenna is designed using periodic slots of different shapes like rectangular, circular and bowtie that are etched in the ground plane of the structure. For each of the slots the antenna performance is compared by keeping the transverse dimension same.

A microstrip antenna based on the defected ground structure

2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013), 2013
The microstrip antenna is widely used in our life now for its low profile, simple structure, low cost and omnidirectional radiation patterns. But the drawbacks of this kind antenna also sometimes confine their applications, especially the narrow bandwidth. In this paper, a microstrip antenna with the defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed.

Wide stopband lowpass filter based on defected microstrip structure

2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS), 2017
A microstrip lowpass filter based on the defected microstrip structure with sharp roll-off characteristics and wide stopband is proposed. The filter is composed of S-shaped and H-shaped slots. Based on the proposed structure, a lowpass filter with a 3dB cutoff frequency at 4.05GHz, a simple structure, a compact size and a sharp transition band is ...

Concentric Ring-Shaped Defected Ground Structures for Microstrip Applications

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2006
A new defected ground structure (DGS) consisting of concentric circular rings in different configurations is experimentally studied to examine the stopband characteristics. Unlike previous DGS designs, a metallic shielding is introduced at the back of the DGS to suppress any leakage or radiation, and this would be advantageous for microwave circuit ...

Microstrip filter with defected ground structure: a close perspective

International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies, 2013
This paper presents a close but a beginner's perspective and a comprehensive review of microstrip filters with defected ground structure (DGS). The concept of DGS is inspired by photonic/electromagnetic bandgap structures (EBG/PBG) and metamaterials that are employed in microwave components to achieve a variety of performance enhancement features ...

A novel microstrip diplexer design using defected ground structure

Proceedings. 2005 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems, 2005., 2005
A simple microstrip diplexer using defected ground structure (DGS) is described in this letter. The diplexer has been designed, fabricated, and measured. Results show the new diplexer exhibits an isolation of greater than 26 dB between channels.
