Azygos vein lead implantation: a therapeutic option for elevated defibrillation threshold.

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2012
The evaluation of the defibrillation threshold (DFT) during the implantation of a cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) is an important stage of the procedure, as a high DFT can be found in up to 16% of patients.

The anti‐fibrotic effects of novel heart failure pharmacotherapies in advanced heart failure patients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Novel heart failure (HF) pharmacotherapies, including angiotensin receptor‐neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) and sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is), may confer cardiovascular benefits by attenuating myocardial fibrosis. However, direct evidence from human failing myocardial samples is limited.

Efficacy and safety of cardioversion with continuous landiolol infusion for atrial tachyarrhythmia in an inflammatory state caused by volvulus in a child with TARP syndrome and postoperative tetralogy of Fallot

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2018
A 2‐year‐old boy was diagnosed with TARP syndrome and underwent surgery for tetralogy of Fallot. He developed fever and had an acute abdomen. After 12 hours, atrial tachyarrhythmia (300 beats/min [bpm]) occurred.

Incidence, Risk Factors and Predictors of Phantom Shocks in Patients with Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators: State-of-the-art Review

open access: yesArrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review
Background: Extensive research has been devoted to ICDs, but there is still a significant gap in the literature regarding phantom shocks (PSs). Understanding the frequency, predictors, risk factors, management and health implications of PSs is essential.

Cost‐Utility Analysis of Left Bundle Branch Area Versus Biventricular Pacing for Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: A Multicenter, Prospective, Quasi‐Experimental Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Cost‐utility of LBBAP CRT versus BVP CRT. ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a well‐established treatment for patients with heart failure (HF). Recently, left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) has emerged as a more physiological alternative to biventricular pacing (BVP) for CRT.
