Effect of Thickness on Large-Deflection Behavior of Shells
AIAA Journal, 1999and then jumps to 25% of the chord at u18.5 deg. This corresponds to the arrival of the reversed- ow region (SLV) in its upstream movement along the airfoil surface. The results at x=cD 0:52 and 0.84 (Figs. 2c and 2d) show a similar trend, differing only in the timing of the events. In each case, the initial viscous layer, which is already quite thick,

COMPLEX DYNAMICAL BEHAVIORS OF DEFLECTION ROUTING ON GRID NETWORKS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2012Deflection routing is a mechanism to route packets away from congestion. Traditional shortest path routing uses only the static topological information as input, whereas deflection routing takes into account the dynamic queue length information. In the simplest form of deflection routing, a packet being dropped due to queue buffer overflow is "rescued"

Behavior of Cylinders With Initial Shell Deflection
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1957Abstract Evidence is presented which indicates that, for stiffened cylinders fabricated by welding, initial deflections exist for the shell between frames. The initial deflections of the shell of a stiffened cylinder were measured and found to be approximated closely by a second-degree curve.

Static Deflection Behavior of a Piezoelectric Forceps
Dynamic Systems and Control, Volumes 1 and 2, 2003A model is described for predicting quasi-static behavior of a piezoelectric forceps actuator (PFA), which consists of two slightly curved composite beams with bonded piezoelectric layers. The PFA is an innovative medical device that is potentially useful for minimum invasive surgery.

Howe Truss Behavior Interpreted by Deflections
Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, 1992The precollapse state of certain Howe trusses, composing the supporting structure of a timber roof construction over a harbor store building in Poland, has been investigated in the form of a case study. The usual performance and characteristic attributes of Howe trusses are described generally.
