Solitary Waves and Chaotic Behavior in Large-Deflection Beam

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2010
The motion equation of nonlinear flexural wave in large-deflection beam is derived from Hamilton's variational principle using the coupling of flexural deformation and midplane stretching as key source of nonlinearity and taking into account transverse, axial and rotary inertia effects.

Testing and Characterization of Elastomeric Bushings for Large Deflection Behavior

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1997
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Elastomeric components are used extensively in the construction of the modern automobile to accommodate relative movement between metal parts, absorb shocks and to provide isolation from undesirable vibrations. Their small-amplitude dynamic stiffness and damping characteristics are the key mechanical properties ...

Load-deflection behavior of concrete anchors in tension

2020
ABSTRACT Concrete anchors are frequently being used in many civil engineering practices both for the rehabilitation of the existing structures and for the construction of the new ones. The contractors generally have to make use of the manuals supplied by the manufacturer when designing a fastening.
