Bending of a Stepped Sandwich Beam: The Shear Effect
This paper is devoted to the stepped sandwich beam with clamped ends subjected to a uniformly distributed load. The bending problem of the beam is formulated and solved with consideration of the classical sandwich beam of constant face thickness.

Bending of a Seven Layer Beam with Foam Cores
The subject of the paper is a seven layer beam with foam cores. The structure of the beam is symmetrical. The beam is composed of the main core, two inner sheets, two second cores and two outer sheets.

Amplification Factors in the Case of Beam Under Moving Force – Theoretical Analysis
The impact of a moving load speed on the dynamic overload of beams, assuming that the track of the load has no unevenness, is examined. First the problem of a visco-elastic beam on a Winkler foundation subjected to a force moving at a constant speed will

We examine the existence and uniqueness of solutions to two-point boundary value problems involving fourth-order, ordinary differential equations. Such problems have interesting applications to modelling the deflections of beams.

A study of the deflections of metal road guardrail elements [PDF]
Statistical data on traffic accidents in 2008 in Lithuania is presented. Referring to statistical data, ‘grounding on an obstacle’ makes one-tenth of all registered traffic accidents – 9.4% (an obstacle may be a road guardrail, a lamp post, a tree, a bar,

ПРОГИБ И ОСЕВАЯ СИЛА В СВОБОДНО-ОПЕРТОЙ ГЕОМЕТРИЧЕСКИ-НЕЛИНЕЙНОЙ БАЛКЕ
The problem of beam bending for large deflections is described in general. The nonlinear beam theory is considered for a simply-supported beam subjected to uniform load. The governing equations for displacements of this beam are derived.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...
