Foliar pests and pathogens of Eucalyptus dunnii plantations in southern Queensland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Eucalyptus dunnii is grown in plantations in subtropical Queensland, beyond its endemic distribution of northern NSW. As the plantation industry has expanded into subtropical Australia there has been an increase in the incidence of defoliating insects ...

Nocturnal Lepidoptera Larvae in Mega‐Project: Habitat and Environmental Factors Over Construction Effects

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study assessed the effects of construction‐related factors, including ALAN, on nocturnal Lepidoptera larvae in mega‐project areas. The results suggest that local environmental conditions play a greater role than ALAN intensity in shaping larval assemblages.

Vengeful Vines: Cell Death and Neoplasm Formation in Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae, Piperales) in Response to Oviposition of Troidini (Papilionidae, Lepidoptera) Butterflies

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study investigates the oviposition ecology of the iconic Troidini butterflies on their host plants of the genus Aristolochia in Sabah, where we made the first observation of HR‐like cell death and neoplasm formation in response to oviposition of Troidini, signifying the first such record in the entire Magnoliid clade (> 10,000 spp.).

Soybean induced resistance to Spodoptera eridania herbivory

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 10, Page 9931-9943, October 2026.
SOD, CAT, APX, PPO, KTI, and MDA levels were higher in the resistant soybean. S. eridania herbivory increased H2O2 and MDA, but decreased SOD and PPO levels. S. eridania herbivory increased KTI activity only in the resistant variety. Isoquercitrin and daidzin were exclusive to resistant and susceptible soybeans.

The Role of Environmental Parameters in the Evolution of Holm Oak (Quercus ilex L. subsp. ballota (Desf.) Samp) Decline: Studies in the Iberian Peninsula

open access: yesForest Pathology, Volume 56, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The combination of geographical factors (climate, slope, orientation, lithology, water availability, etc.) and the pathogenicity of agents such as the oomycete from the kingdom Straminopile Phytophthora or Pythium species causes the plant disease known as oak decline in the Iberian Peninsula. Leaving aside the presence of the pathogen, the aim

Defoliation frequency outweighs timing as a driver of tree mortality related to drought-defoliation interaction

open access: yes
Climate change is expected to increase the frequency and severity of forest disturbance, making it more likely that multiple forms of disturbance will occur simultaneously.

Response of seed nutrients to the harvest‐aid paraquat in soybean grown in Mississippi

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Our previous published results showed that the application of paraquat at the R6 or R6.5 growth stages resulted in significant yield loss (up to 20%) if paraquat is applied at R6.5 growth stage. In continuation, therefore, the objective of the current research was to determine if the application of paraquat at the R6, R6.5, or R7 affected seed
