Age-related Сhanges of Diameter and Deformability of Red Blood Cells
Іntroduction. The diameter and deformability of red blood cells (RBCs) play a very important role in the maintenance of normal blood flow in the microcirculation.

Speech and other natural sounds show high temporal correlation and smooth spectral evolution punctuated by a few, irregular and abrupt changes. In a conventional Hidden Markov Model (HMM), such structure is represented weakly and indirectly through transitions between explicit states representing 'steps' along such smooth changes.

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Modeling of Asphalt Concrete While Using Discrete Element Method
The paper considers a mathematical model which is used to study a composite material similar in structure to asphalt concrete and it takes into account presence of solid particles of different sizes and a soft and plastic binder.

Influence of the Composition of the Activator on Mechanical Characteristics of a Geopolymer
Geopolymer materials are characterized by their high durability and low carbon dioxide emissions, when compared with more traditional materials, like concrete made from ordinary Portland cement.

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Effects of erythropoietin on erythrocyte deformability in non-transfused preterm infants
AIM: Suppression of erythropoiesis due to low plasma erythropoietin levels is an important factor in the development of anaemia of prematurity. Premature infants may therefore be treated with recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO).

A New Method for Plasticization of Inclusions in Saw-Wire Steel by NaF Addition
In this study, a new method is proposed for the plasticization of inclusions by taking advantage of the behavior of alkali metals in lowering the inclusion melting point. A series of experiments with NaF additions to molten steel were carried out using a

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Deformability is shown to correlate with the invasiveness and metastasis of cancer cells. Recent studies suggest epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) might enable cancer metastasis. However, the correlation of EMT with cancer cell deformability has
