Robust stack-array deformable mirror for laser beam control

LASE, 2022
For laser beam control in different scientific and industrial tasks adaptive optics tools are widely exploited. Any adaptive optical system parameters are mainly determined by wavefront corrector properties such as stroke, operating speed, resolution of ...

High-spatial resolution stacked-actuator deformable mirror for correction of atmospheric wavefront aberrations.

Applied Optics, 2021
Deformable mirrors are vital components of any adaptive optical system. Considering such a crucial role in compensation of incident wavefront distortions, the main requirements are imposed on these elements that determine performance of the entire system.

Flat-top beam formation with miniature bimorph deformable mirror

Optical Engineering + Applications, 2020
Bimorph deformable mirror with 63 electrodes on 20 mm aperture is discussed. Methods of dividing all round electrode into sectors with a square of 2-4 mm2 are described.

Deformable mirrors for the FALCON concept

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
FALCON is an original concept for a next generation instrument which could be used on the ESO Very Large Telescope (VLT) and on the future Extremely Large Telescopes (ELT). It is a multi-objects integral field spectrograph with multiple small integral field units (IFUs).

Deformable mirror with thermal actuators

Optics Letters, 2002
Low-cost adaptive optics is applied in lasers, scientific instrumentation, ultrafast sciences, and ophthalmology. These applications demand that the deformable mirrors used be simple, inexpensive, reliable, and efficient. We report a novel type of ultralow-cost deformable mirror with thermal actuators.

Miniature bimorph deformable mirror for laser beam shaping

LASE, 2020
Laser beam shaping technology nowadays requires as small diameter of the adaptive optics as possible. In our lab we usually control for laser radiation by means of bimorph deformable mirrors with a typical size of more than 50 mm.

Thermal deformable mirror

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Beam correction of high power lasers often requires large wavefront deformations with very slow rates of change. Adaptive Optics Associates, Inc. (AOA) has developed a new type of deformable mirror in which thermal expansion of tubes control the mirror's figure. This paper is the subject of a patent disclosure.

Microelectromechanical deformable mirrors

IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, 1999
A new class of silicon-based deformable mirrors is described. These devices are capable of correcting time-varying aberrations in imaging or beam forming applications. Each mirror is composed of a flexible silicon membrane supported by an underlying array of electrostatic parallel plate actuators.

Composite Deformable Mirror

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
A mathematical model for a spherical hexagon mirror is described along with the model verifications. A flat hexagon epoxy mirror with aluminum core is used in test procedures in addition to a flat aluminum honeycomb mirror. Deformable reflector concepts are discussed and piezoelectric actuators are analyzed.
