X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

A gastroscopic analysis of antral deformity
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 1974When is radiographic distortion of the gastric antrum not due to disease at all? In half the cases, say these authors, thorough endoscopy can dispel the fear of the "phantom antrum."

AN ANALYSIS OF PARALYTIC THUMB DEFORMITIES
The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 19501. In the early treatment of paralytic deformities of the hand, the prevention of soft-tissue contractures and joint changes is important. 2. Transplantation of the flexor digitorum sublimis of the ring finger to the proximal phalanx of the thumb has given the most satisfactory results in this Clinic, and has fulfilled all the requirements of ...

Analysis of deformable object handling
Proceedings 1999 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.99CH36288C), 2003A manipulated deformable object is viewed as an underactuated mechanical system. In this context controllability issues are discussed and results on the nature of the constraints and the controllability properties of an important class of deformable objects being modeled with finite elements are stated.

Learning deformation and structure simultaneously: In situ endograft deformation analysis
Medical Image Analysis, 2011The learning of the shape and appearance behavior of complex anatomical structures is of growing importance in the successful use of medical imaging data. We propose a method to simultaneously learn a model of shape variation and the behavioral structure of objects in volumetric data sets.

Deformation analysis of brain regions
1997The analysis of 2D and 3D deformations applied to structures having non regular geometry is presented. Deformations are studied in order to understand complex dynamic problems coded into image sequences. In particular, methods have been developed suitable to control the reconstruction and the spatial deformation of cerebral structures, in their ...

Analysis Of Complex Postextirpative Deformity
Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1995Reconstruction in the oncologic setting requires of the plastic surgeon a careful and concise thought process. Analysis of a complex deformity/dysfunction is problem solving, and postextirpative reconstruction is simply a variation of the same theme. An analysis model has been developed ("Here-There") that can be useful as a guide for the process of ...
