Thermally Regulated Droplet Microfluidics Enables Uniform, Size‐Controllable DNA‐Nanoparticle Superlattices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Thermally regulated droplet microfluidics enables controlled assembly of DNA‐functionalized gold nanoparticles into uniform, size‐controllable superlattice crystals. Monodisperse droplets formed at elevated temperature suppress premature hybridization, followed by ultra‐slow cooling to promote near‐equilibrium growth.

Precisely Timed On‐Demand Droplet Ejection and Collision in Free Space for Controlled Reaction Initiation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
LiDIA is an on‐demand droplet‐in‐air platform that enables synchronized droplet collision, ultralow‐waste operation, and obstruction‐free sample delivery. By combining precise triggering with reliable free‐space dispensing, it provides a versatile route for rapid mixing and time‐resolved studies, with strong potential for applications in XFEL, cryo‐EM,

Balancing Accuracy and Cost: Trade‐Offs in Large Language Model Quantization for the Systems Engineering Domain

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As Large Language Models (LLMs) are increasingly deployed within the systems engineering domain, optimizing these models to balance performance accuracy and cost for given computational resources becomes essential. One process for finding the right balance is quantization, a process that involves converting model parameters from higher ...

Exploring the Landscape of MgO Polymorphs: Stability and the Electronic Band Gap of Promising Candidates

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
In this study, we have investigated possible predicted polymorphs of magnesium oxide (MgO) with respect to their thermodynamic and kinetic stability, as well as their electronic properties, focusing on the possibility of tuning the band gap of the material.

Classification of Broadband Oscillations Using Wavelet Convolution and Multi‐Channel Attention Network

open access: yesEnergy Internet, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurate identification of broadband oscillation types is a prerequisite for implementing appropriate control strategies. The strongly nonlinear, nonstationary and multi‐modal characteristics of broadband oscillation signals impose higher demands on identification methods. Practical applications face challenges such as coupling effects between

Human‐supervised LLM triage of pig butchering complaints: A validation study of multi‐model identifier extraction

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Digital forensic investigations increasingly process unstructured cryptocurrency‐fraud complaints at intake while preserving analyst oversight before evidentiary or downstream investigative use. This validation study evaluates whether human‐supervised multi‐model LLM extraction can recover triage‐relevant identifiers from California DFPI pig ...

Efficient Masked Autoencoder for Birdsong Representation with Applications on Wild Bird Species Classification

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Research on mosquito feeding preferences and the malaria parasites they transmit is essential for understanding the interactions between hosts, vectors, and parasites. In this study, vertebrate hosts were identified in 72 mosquitoes. Most blood meals (58.7%) came from birds, representing 25 species, while 40.0% came from mammals (13 species), and 1.3 ...

Splatshop: Efficiently Editing Large Gaussian Splat Models

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We present Splatshop, a highly optimized toolbox for interactive editing (selection, deletion, painting, transformation, …) of 3D Gaussian Splatting models. Utilizing a comprehensive collection of heuristic approaches, we carefully balance between exact and fast rendering to enable precise editing without sacrificing real‐time performance. Our

Image‐Based Spatio‐Temporal Interpolation for Split Rendering

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Low‐powered devices – such as small form factor head‐mounted displays (HMDs) – struggle to deliver a smooth and high‐quality viewing experience, due to their limited power and rendering capabilities. Cloud rendering attempts to solve the quality issue, but leads to prohibitive latency and bandwidth requirements, hindering use with HMDs over ...
