Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Existence and Asymptotic Behavior of Traveling Wave Fronts for a Time-Delayed Degenerate Diffusion Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper is concerned with traveling wave fronts for a degenerate diffusion equation with time delay. We first establish the necessary and sufficient conditions to the existence of monotone increasing and decreasing traveling wave fronts, respectively.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Continuous Dependence in Front Propagation for Convective Reaction-Diffusion Models with Aggregative Movements

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
The paper deals with a degenerate reaction-diffusion equation, including aggregative movements and convective terms. The model also incorporates a real parameter causing the change from a purely diffusive to a diffusive-aggregative and to a purely ...

Nonlinear dynamical analysis of drift ion acoustic shock waves in Electron-Positron-Ion plasma with adiabatic trapping

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2022
Propagation of nonlinear coupled drift ion acoustic shock wave is investigated in an electron–positron-ion (epi) plasma in the presence of fully degenerate adiabatically trapped electrons.

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Travelling wave solutions for degenerate pseudo-parabolic equation modelling two-phase flow in porous media

open access: yes, 2013
We discuss a pseudo-parabolic equation modelling two-phase flow in porous media, which includes dynamic effects in the capillary pressure. We extend the results obtained previously for linear higher order terms and investigate the existence of travelling
