An MDM2 degrader for treatment of acute leukemias

Leukemia, 2022
In acute myeloid leukemia (AML), p53 tumor suppressor activity can be reduced due to enhanced expression of MDM2 which promotes the degradation of p53. In TP53 wild-type malignancies, therapy with small molecule antagonists of MDM2 results in antileukemic activity.

Degradation of DNA by bisulfite treatment

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2007
A significant level of target degradation was caused by bisulfite treatment for methylcytosine-selective hydrolysis. The depyrimidination proceeded via addition of bisulfite to pyrimidines in DNA. The quantification with real-time PCR after conventional bisulfite treatment showed a large decrease in the amount of full-length DNA.

Atrazine degradation by anodic Fenton treatment

Water Research, 2002
Anodic Fenton treatment (AFT), an hydroxyl radical oxidation process recently developed for the degradation of aqueous pesticide waste, was applied to the degradation of atrazine, seven degradation products, and a formulated atrazine product. Using AFT, degradation of the parent compound occurred in 3 min.

Degradation of polychlorinated naphthalene by mechanochemical treatment

Chemosphere, 2013
Polychlorinated naphthalene (PCN) is a hazardous compound that is listed as a new persistent organic pollutants candidate by the United Nations Environment Program. The production, import and use of PCNs are prohibited by the Chemical Substances Control Law in Japan. PCN was milled with calcium oxide as an additive to investigate the feasibility of its

Diisobutyl phthalate degradation by Fenton treatment

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 2007
Degradation of diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) by Fenton oxidation was evaluated in this study. The results indicate that the pH, H(2)O(2) and Fe(2 +) concentration were three main operating factors considerably affecting the decomposition of DIBP. The optimum conditions were observed at pH 3 and the molar ratio of [H(2)O(2)]: [Fe(2 +)]: [DIBP] = 5: 5: 1 ...

Selective degradation of the estrogen receptor in the treatment of cancers

The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2021
Estrogen receptor subtype α (ERα) plays key roles in breast cancers, and has been a target for endocrine therapy for a long time. Unfortunately, long-term treatment by Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) or Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) could cause drug resistance and also would increase the risk for uterine cancer. Therefore, novel anti-breast

Degradation of azoxystrobin, methoxyfenozide, and propyzamide by ultrasound treatment

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2023
Ultrasound as a green and efficient process gains special attention in wastewater treatment. The ultrasound-assisted degradation of azoxystrobin, methoxyfenozide, and propyzamide as widely used pesticides for vine treatment was investigated. A wide range of ultrasonic power (40 to 140 W) and a single frequency (20 kHz) were applied.
