OAM degree of coherence

open access: yesOptics Letters
A new, to the best of our knowledge, scalar quantity characterizing radial correlations among all the orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes present in a random beam is introduced. It is given by the maximum value of the interference fringe contrasts produced by the filtered pairs of the OAM modes.

Degree of coherence and electromagnetic resonators

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2004
Electromagnetic theory of open laser resonators is formulated in the domain of partially coherent optics. The theory is then used to find out the electromagnetic degree of coherence of the field in various situations. It is shown that if only one transverse mode is present in the steady-state condition, then the field is necessarily completely coherent

Phase structuring of the complex degree of coherence

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2018
Simple conditions on the magnitude and phase of the complex degree of coherence of stationary, scalar, one-dimensional (1D) Schell-like sources are derived for the design of novel optical beam-like fields. Several examples of new sources obtained with the help of signum, odd monomials, and sine phase functions are given.
