Complex degree of coherence modeling with famous planar curves

Optics Letters, 2018
Several planar curves that are well known from mechanics, astronomy, acoustics, etc., and used in other branches of optics, such as caustics and light robotics, are employed for modeling of the recently introduced coherence curves [Opt. Lett.43, 4727 (2018)OPLEDP0146-959210.1364/OL.43.004727].

Complex degree of coherence measurement for classical statistical fields

Optics Letters, 2016
We propose a new method for measuring real and imaginary parts of the complex degree of coherence of a classical field obeying Gaussian statistics. Our method is based on mixing incoherently a coherent Gaussian beam, a local oscillator, and the statistical field.

Coherence degree of a partially coherent Bessel beam in turbulent atmosphere

26th International Symposium on Atmospheric and Ocean Optics, Atmospheric Physics, 2020
The results of theoretical researches of coherence properties of partially coherent Bessel optical beams in turbulent atmosphere are presented. Coherence degree of such beams depending on beams parameters and characteristics of turbulent atmosphere is analyzed in detail.

Intrinsic Degrees of Coherence for Electromagnetic Fields

2010
These last few years, the analysis of partial coherence of partially polarized light has been the subject of intensive research. In classical optics, the standard approach consists of considering the light as a realization of a random function and in analyzing its second-order statistical properties.

Degree of coherence of the electromagnetic field

Physics Letters, 1963
The vector (rather than the usual scalar) description of coherence properties of the electromagnetic field is considered. Only quasimonochromatic stationary electromagnetic fields are discussed. A general interference law for the electromagnetic field (similar in form to the scalar law) is derived. An expression for the degree of coherence of the field

Measurement of the Degree of Coherence in Nonmonochromatic Light

Applied Optics, 1969
A method is described for measuring the degree of coherence, gamma(12)(tau), of two points in a plane illuminated, directly or through an optical system, by a nonmonochromatic source. The vibrations from the two points are superposed by means of a birefringent system.

Coherency matrix formulation for partially coherent imaging to evaluate the degree of coherence for image

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2012
This paper defines a matrix from which coherence property of imaging by partially coherent Koehler illumination is determined. The matrix termed coherency matrix in imaging system is derived by the space average of a product of a column vector and its transpose conjugate where each row of the column vector represents mutually incoherent light.

Spatial solitons with controllable degree of coherence

Technical Digest. Summaries of papers presented at the Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference. Postconference Technical Digest (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37172), 2002
Summary form only given. We show that noninstantaneous, logarithmically saturable nonlinear media support another important class of solitons, namely twisted Gaussian Shell-model solitons. We apply second-order coherence theory in the space-time representation together with a self-consistent multimode approach to obtain a closed-form analytical ...

Modulations and degrees of coherence of optical fields

Physical Review A, 1977
By using the concept of degree of coherence of quantum optical fields, the properties of fields which can be modulated at a complex rate are studied.

Complex degree of mutual coherence of biological liquids

SPIE Proceedings, 2013
To characterize the degree of consistency of parameters of the optically uniaxial birefringent protein nets of blood plasma a new parameter – complex degree of mutual coherence (CDMC) is suggested. The technique of polarization measuring the coordinate distributions of the complex degree of mutual anisotropy of blood plasma is developed.
