Hyperentangled Bell-state analysis [PDF]
It is known that it is impossible to unambiguously distinguish the four Bell states encoded in pairs of photon polarizations using only linear optics. However, hyperentanglement, the simultaneous entanglement in more than one degree of freedom, has been ...

Comparison of nonlinear dynamic analyses performed by both single and multi degree of freeedom system (rus) [PDF]
The main principles of seismic-resistant design of buildings and structures allow the propagation of significant plastic deformations under large earthquakes. But the possibility of total collapse should be ruled out.

Normal Forms for Symplectic Maps with Twist Singularities [PDF]
We derive a normal form for a near-integrable, four-dimensional symplectic map with a fold or cusp singularity in its frequency mapping. The normal form is obtained for when the frequency is near a resonance and the mapping is approximately given by the ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Dense hadron star in quark degree of freedom
The quark degree of freedom may play an important role as one studies dense hadron stars which can help to understand the universe origin. We add a temperature dependence to the effective quark mass adopted from a quark-quark interaction on the QCD basis

Multiple Degree of Freedom Model of Giant Magnetostrictive Actuator
A specific giant magnetostrictive actuator is developed for injectors in high-pressure-common-rail system. The magnetic strength, with its axial distribution unevenness considered, is determined by the driving current and axial dimension.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

Design and Analysis of Three-Degree-of-Freedom High-stiffness Robot
Combining robot technology and CNC machining technology, a three -degree-of-freedom high-stiffness robot is designed. The three-degree-of-freedom structure is determined by the analysis of processing requirements, and the theoretical analysis of the ...

Mutually unbiased bases for the rotor degree of freedom
We consider the existence of a continuous set of mutually unbiased bases for the continuous and periodic degree of freedom that describes motion on a circle (rotor degree of freedom).

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.
