Vertex-Degree Based Topological Indices of Graphene

Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, 2020
A vertex-degree-based (VDB, for short) topological index φ is defined for a graph G with n vertices as φ(G)=∑1≤i≤j≤n−1mi,j(G)φ(i,j), where mi,j=mi,j(G) is the number of edges of G joining a vertex ...

Smallest Vertex‐Transitive Graphs of Given Degree and Diameter

Journal of Graph Theory, 2013
AbstractFor every d and k, we determine the smallest order of a vertex‐transitive graph of degree d and diameter k, and in each such case we show that this order is achieved by a Cayley graph.

Distribution of Vertex Degree in Web-Graphs

Combinatorics, Probability and Computing, 2006
We give results for the age-dependent distribution of vertex degree and number of vertices of given degree in the undirected web-graph process, a discrete random graph process introduced in [8]. For such processes we show that as $k \rightarrow \infty$, the expected proportion of vertices of degree $k$ has power law parameter $1+1/\eta$ where $\eta$ is

On the vertex degree indices of connected graphs

Chemical physics letters, 2011
We introduce a family of invariants defined in terms of positive functions of degrees of vertices in a graph. A member of the family that measures the average degree of neighbors of vertices in a graph is then investigated for the predictive potential for stability in the class of generalized fullerenes.

Structural identification of large statistically distributed vertex degree

2014 Dynamics of Systems, Mechanisms and Machines (Dynamics), 2014
For the modeling of large networks a random graph is proposed, the generation of which is based on the use of nonlinear preferential attachment rule. The analytical solution for the vertex degree distribution is given as well as the method for the calibration of graph generator according to the node degree distributions in real networks.

On Discriminativity of Vertex-Degree-Based Indices

2012
A recently published paper [T. Doslic, this journal 3 (2012) 25-34] considers the Zagreb indices of benzenoid systems, and points out their low discriminativity. We show that analogous results hold for a variety of vertex-degree-based molecular structure descriptors that are being studied in contemporary mathematical chemistry.

ESTIMATION OF POWER-LAW EXPONENT OF DEGREE DISTRIBUTION USING MEAN VERTEX DEGREE

Modern Physics Letters B, 2009
The power-law exponent γ describing the form of the degree distribution of networks is related to the mean degree of the networks. This relation provides a useful method to estimate this exponent because mean degrees can easily be obtained by the number of vertices and edges in the networks.
