Abstract This paper presents a framework of exergy analysis to evaluate the performance of the condensing dehumidification and the desiccant wheel dehumidification. The performance of two dehumidification methods are compared for pure dehumidification purposes based on proposed dehumidification systems that undertake only the latent load.

Membrane-based air dehumidification (MAD), a recently emerged air dehumidification technology, separates the moisture from the humid air by using a selective membrane. MAD is carried out by permitting only vapour molecules to transfer from one side of the membrane at a high concentration to the other side at a low concentration.

Abstract Desiccant dehumidification is an alternative solution for independently processing air humidity, which can simultaneously accommodate the sensible and latent heat loads even in high-humidity areas (e.g., Hong Kong). However, there is still a lack of comparative investigation in practical applications between the traditional condensation ...

Isothermal dehumidification or gas drying using vacuum sweep dehumidification
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2013Abstract This article discusses a novel isothermal system for removing water vapor from gases using water selective membranes. Previous membrane systems for dehumidifying atmospheric pressure gases suffered from low driving forces across the membrane.

New dehumidification system design and dehumidification test for the main cable of suspension bridge
Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring, 2021To solve the problems of insufficient dry air coverage of the external dry air supply dehumidification system commonly used in the main cable of the suspension bridge, a new dehumidification system is proposed to dehumidify the main cable by delivering dry air from inside the main cable.
