Thermoelectric Dehumidifier for Sensor Cleaning

2021
In this study, a dry and oil-free air system is developed using easily accessible commercial off-the-shelf components, streamlining the manufacturing process. The significance of this system lies in its ability to prevent contaminants in the air from leaving volatile residues that could potentially harm circuits and disrupt sensor accuracy.

Estimation of dehumidifying performance of solid polymer electrolytic dehumidifier for practical application

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2010
A two-layer model for a solid polymer electrolytic (SPE) dehumidifier is applied to a system in which the chamber to be dehumidified has some leakage area. By introducing this area, the attainable humidity in the chamber, which is the steady-state humidity to be attained after a long-time dehumidification, can be defined.

Dehumidifiers and air drying

2000
In the unit dehumidifier process, all or part of the condenser heat is used to re-heat the air leaving the evaporator. Since the moisture in the air has given up its latent heat in condensing, this heat is reclaimed and put back into the outlet air. The efficiency of a unit dehumidifier can be improved by a heat exchanger that pre-cools the incoming ...

Performance Optimization of Rotary Dehumidifiers

Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 1995
A rotary dehumidifier consists of a rotating porous matrix made of a desiccant with mechanically supporting materials. The dehumidification performance of a rotary dehumidifier wheel depends on its rotational speed, the sorption properties of the desiccant, the heat and mass transfer characteristics of the matrix, and the size of the dehumidifier.

Rotating ring desiccant dehumidifier

Journal of Agricultural Engineering Research, 1985
Abstract Confinement animal housing on cold winter nights can consume large amounts of energy if sufficient airflow is used to control humidity. Reducing the airflow reduces energy consumption but causes excessive moisture to accumulate in the building.

Gas-powered liquid desiccant dehumidifier

Applied Energy, 1993
Abstract A novel concept for the operation of a liquid desiccant domestic-dehumidifier has been proposed: the resulting developed system dehumidifies air by passing it directly over a liquid desiccant. The system is novel in two respects: first, a bubble pump is used to both reconcentrate the desiccant as well as pump it around the system; secondly ...

Corrosion Monitoring in Dehumidified Storage

CORROSION 2010, 2010
Abstract Dehumidified storage areas are designed to eliminate moisture and thereby corrosion damage. The goal of a dehumidified storage system is to keep the relative humidity (RH) below a certain level (75%) whereby the adverse effects of humidity (rust, condensation, mold and mildew) are greatly reduced or eliminated.

A MULTIFUNCTION DEHUMIDIFYING HEAT PUMP FOR GREENHOUSES

Acta Horticulturae, 2011
mprovements in greenhouse structure and equipment with the aim of saving energy (double walls, thermal screens) have led to better insulation and airtightness but have also induced microclimatic changes, especially on nighttime humidity levels. During the last decade, dynamic climate procedures such as temperature integration have been frequently ...

Heat pump dehumidifier drying of food

Trends in Food Science & Technology, 1997
Although heat pumps have been used extensively in industry for many years, their use for drying, especially foods, has been limited. This article reviews the potential of heat pump dehumidifier (HPD) dryers for use in food drying. HPD dryers offer several advantages over conventional hot-air dryers for the drying of food products, including higher ...

Performance of Cross-Cooled Desiccant Dehumidifiers

Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 1983
A cross-cooled silica gel desiccant dehumidifier model was designed, built, and tested. The performance of the unit was studied as a function of the inlet process stream dew point, process stream and cooling stream flow rates, and regeneration stream temperature and dew point. The tests were also simulated by a computer program and were compared to the
