Rehydration Capacities and Rates for Various Porcine Tissues after Dehydration

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The biphasic effects of liquid on tissue biomechanics are well known in cartilage and vocal folds, yet not extensively in other tissue types. Past studies have shown that tissue dehydration significantly impacts biomechanical properties and that rehydration can restore these properties in certain tissue types.

Mass transfer analysis and kinetic modeling of ultrasound-assisted osmotic dehydration of kiwifruit slices

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Ultrasound treatments (sonication) in combination with osmotic dehydration process accelerate the rate of moisture removal from the fruits or vegetables pieces and decrease the dehydration duration.

Effect of osmotic dehydration pretreatment of carrots

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2003
The influences of different factors in the osmotic dehydration efficiency of carrots were studied by the orthogonal experiment, which were the density of sucrose solution/%, ratio of solid to liquid/kg·kg-1, osmotic dehydration time/min, blanching ...

Moisture diffusion and shrinkage characteristics of broad bean during low-temperature vacuum drying

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Properties, 2020
Low-temperature vacuum dehydration could avoid heat injury because of high drying temperature, as well as prevent mechanical damage due to ice crystal during freezing.

Effects of different preservation on the mechanical properties of cortical bone under quasi-static and dynamic compression

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2023
Introduction: Mechanical properties of biological tissue are important for numerical simulations. Preservative treatments are necessary for disinfection and long-term storage when conducting biomechanical experimentation on materials.

Reconsidering Calcium Dehydration as the Rate-Determining Step in Calcium Mineral Growth [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2019
The dehydration of cations is generally accepted as the rate-limiting step in many processes. Molecular dynamics (MD) can be used to investigate the dynamics of water molecules around cations, and two different methods exist to obtain trajectory-based water dehydration frequencies. Here, these two different post-processing methods (direct method versus

Dehydration rates of fish flesh by expression.

open access: yesNIPPON SHOKUHIN KOGYO GAKKAISHI, 1988

NRASQ61R Expression in Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Causes Enlarged Vessels, Hemorrhagic Chylous Effusions, and High Mortality in a Mouse Model of Kaposiform Lymphangiomatosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
