Innovative theories: representatives and problem structurization

open access: yes, 2009
У статті розглядається проблема структуризації існуючих економічних теорій, що досліджують вплив технологічних змін на економічні процеси. Дається загальна характеристика інноваційних теорій у рамках запропонованої автором їхньої класифікації.В статье ...

Prostate Cancer Patient‐Derived Organoids (PDOs) as Functional Avatars for Antisense Oligonucleotide (ASO)‐Based Personalized Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Prostate patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) were established from TURP and biopsy specimens with >90% success and retain key features of their tissues of origin, making them functional avatars for antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapy . Transfecting single cells outside the Matrigel matrix and then reconstituting organoids overcomes the 3D delivery ...

Hydrogels Augmented With Artificial Sweeteners can Inhibit Multidrug‐Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Growth and Biofilm Formation While Demonstrating Safety in Pre‐Clinical Pilot Human Trials

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Using PVA–borax hydrogels as carriers for off‐the‐shelf artificial sweeteners to fight multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii. These soft, biocompatible hydrogels rapidly reduce bacterial viability within multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii biofilms by more than 99% within one hour and sustain antimicrobial activity over time, while demonstrating safety in both

Targeting CD300a Signaling With a Phosphatidylserine‐Presenting Hydrogel Rescues Macrophage Dysfunction and Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.

Blood–Brain Barrier Regulation: Evolving From Classic Strategies to Electrochemical Ion and Reactive Oxygen Species Control

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional therapies suffer from poor blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration and disordered ion/reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis, hindering precise neurological treatment. Electrochemical strategies achieve accurate spatiotemporal regulation of neural homeostasis.

Structural properties of dehydrated films of protein solution

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2019
The formation of various characteristic dissipative structures in the films of aqueous and aqueous-salt solutions of albumin protein in dehydration processes is considered. It is shown that a number of experimental parameters affect the shape and spatial distribution of two-dimensional structural formations in films.

An Engineered Biomimetic Nanoreactor With Cascade Functions for Targeted and Combinatorial Therapy of Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Preparation of RVG‐modified erythrocyte membrane‐coated HMPB nanocarriers loaded with L‐arginine and NBP (RM@HPAN) and its neuroprotective mechanism. After intravenous injection, RM@HPAN achieves prolonged circulation, RVG‐29‐mediated BBB penetration, and ischemic accumulation.

In vivo dehydration of disposable (Acuvue) contact lenses

open access: yes, 1990
The in vivo dehydration of the Acuvue disposable contact lens was measured in six subjects using a contact lens refractometer. On average, the lenses dehydrated 6.2 +/- 1.9% after 20 min and 10.2 +/- 3.9% after 6 h of wear.
