Search for an Effect of Satiation on Delayed Matching-To-Sample Performance

Psychological Reports, 1965
A study was made of the effects of satiation on the quality of a well-established delayed matching-to-sample performance. Drive levels were manipulated by (1) allowing Ss (3 white Carneaux pigeons) to run to satiation in prolonged sessions and (2) prefeeding Ss 10% of their working weights 2 hr. before the experimental sessions.

Delayed Symbolic Matching to Sample in the Pigeon

The Psychological Record, 1978
Trials for food-deprived pigeons began with the illumination of the grain feeder lamp. On a random one-half of the trials, the feeder tray was raised so that the bird could eat. After a delay, which varied between 0 and 25 sec., two response keys were illuminated, one with red and one with green light.

The performance of amnesic subjects on tests of delayed matching-to-sample and delayed matching-to-position

Neuropsychologia, 1995
Forced-choice tests of recognition have become the favoured behavioural method for the assessment of models of amnesia in nonhuman primates, yet the profile of deficits shown by human amnesic subjects remains uncertain. The present study explored the performance of 12 amnesic subjects on two delayed matching-to-sample tasks.

Role of naming in delayed matching-to-sample.

American journal of mental deficiency, 1975
A delayed matching-to-sample task, with pictures as sample and comparison stimuli, was given to four severely retarded youths. Although they matched accurately when the sample picture was available for comparison, they performed poorly on the delayed-matching in which the sample was removed a few seconds before the comparison stimuli appeared.

Delayed match‐to‐sample performance in autistic children

Developmental Neuropsychology, 1995
The involvement of temporal lobe structures in autism has found support in several animal and human studies. The delayed match‐ and nonmatch‐to‐sample paradigms are two tasks that are sensitive to temporal lobe and frontal lobe development and damage and may be useful in the study of autism.

Retrospective coding in pigeons' delayed matching-to-sample.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1986
In this study we examined how coding processes in pigeons' delayed matching-to-sample were affected by the stimuli to be remembered. In Experiment 1, two groups of pigeons initially learned 0-delay matching-to-sample with identical comparison stimuli (vertical and horizontal lines) but with different sample stimuli (red and green hues or vertical and ...

Delayed matching to sample in first episode schizophrenia

Biological Psychiatry, 1995
neurons in the rostral raphe cultures, but this was not statistically significant (maximal effect 15 %, p ~ 0.15). Preliminary studies of IL-6 reveal an enhancement of TH-positive neuron survival and no effect on 5-HT-positive neuronal survival. The opposing effects of IL-113 on the survival of fetal dopamine and serotonin neurons provide evidence that

The Effects of the Delay in a Delayed Match-To-Sample Procedure on Acquisition and Transfer

Twenty-six participants, divided into three groups, learned to relate English words to Czech and Portuguese words in a matching-to-sample procedure. Half the word pairs were learned using English words as samples and foreign words as corresponding comparisons and the other half were learned with the foreign words serving as samples and English words as
