Late Delayed Repair of Fractured Penis

Journal of Andrology, 2010
ABSTRACT: Early surgery has been recommended by most authors for fractured penis. Because of gross swelling of the penis, early surgery might have to be performed with an extensive degloving incision of the penis to enable better exposure. We report a case in which the man presented late with deformity and pain.

Delayed repair of the ulnar nerve

The Journal of Hand Surgery: British & European Volume, 1985
The case of a fifteen-year-old child where the delay between division and successful repair of the ulnar nerve was nine years is presented. This case and a review of the literature emphasise the importance of repairing nerves in children irrespective of the time interval between division and repair.

Mitotic delay and repair in human lymphocytes

Mutation Research Letters, 1983
It is widely known that ceils irradiated with X-rays undergo a slowing of the cell cycle. This occurs at any stage of the irradiated cell cycle, and, in addition to the irradiated stage, always involves the G2 phase. The mitotic delay observed when G2 cells are irradiated has been studied extensively and it has been observed that there is a point in G2

Immediate and delayed nerve repair: Improved muscle mass and function with leukemia inhibitory factor

open access: yesJournal of Hand Surgery, 2002
In this study we examined the effect of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) on delayed repair of injured nerves. In a standard entubulation gap repair model of sciatic nerve in the rat, repair was performed immediately and after delays of 1 day, 1 week, and

On Standby Redundancy with Delayed Repair

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1975
This paper derives a) the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the time-to-system-failure distribution, and b) the mean time-to-system-failure. The system consists of several elements with one repair facility which remains idle until a queue of failed units is built up.

Exchangeable Items in Repair Systems: Delay Times

Operations Research, 1988
We compute the delay time distribution for a customer who delivers a failed item to a repair system, when the items are exchangeable and the customer accepts any repaired item that is offered when he is at the head of the customer queue.

Ventricular septal rupture: successful delayed repair

Acta Chirurgica Belgica, 2016
Ventricular septal rupture (VSR) occurs in approximately 1% of the patients who experience an acute myocardial infarction. The operative mortality of VSR repair decreases if surgery can be delayed until the infarct has healed and tissue strength improved.

Challenges in Delayed Repair of Atrioventricular Septal Defects

World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, 2010
Delayed diagnosis and surgery for atrioventricular septal defects are not uncommon in the developing world. This review details the challenges faced in managing this difficult subset of patients.

Delayed Venous Repair for Distal Phalanx Replantation

Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2012
Vein anastomosis is the most important factor determining the success in the replantation of distal phalanx amputations. It is very difficult to find the collapsed veins and to perform vein anastomosis immediately after arterial repair. We have chosen to delay the vein repair between 30 minutes and 1 hour to give time to the veins to expand to a more ...

Asymptotic Distribution of a Standby System with Delayed Repair

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1979
This paper derives an asymptotic distribution for the time to system failure. The system consists of several elements with one repair facility which remains idle until a queue of failed units is built.
