Delayed repair of posttraumatic bronchial transection
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2013Tracheobronchial injuries (TBI) are uncommon but potentially fatal injuries that can occur following blunt trauma to the thoracic region. Occasionally the diagnosis is not made at initial presentation, and patients present late with various sequelae. A 3 year old boy sustained blunt thoracic injury and developed respiratory distress, pneumothorax, and ...

Delayed hypersensitivity reaction to a dural repair substitute
British Journal of Neurosurgery, 2021Modern neurosurgeons commonly rely on dural grafts to aid in obtaining watertight closures when the native dura itself cannot be approximated. We present a patient who developed a symptomatic, delayed hypersensitivity reaction to a cellulose-based synthetic dural graft, which resolved after reoperation and removal of the graft.Dural grafts are a safe ...

Medial canthoplasty: Early and delayed repair
The Laryngoscope, 1981AbstractNaso‐orbital trauma can cause medial orbital wall disruption and detachment of the medial canthal ligament. Damage to the nasolacrimal drainage apparatus, cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea and frontal sinusitis can occur. Twelve cases of naso‐orbital trauma have been reviewed.

The American Journal of Surgery, 1950
Abstract It is usually desirable to delay tendon repair in the region of so-called “no man's land.” Occasionally a primary graft may be done in this region. A tendon graft is frequently necessary on the dorsum of the finger at the level of the distal, medial and proximal joints.

Late Delayed Repair of Fractured Penis
Journal of Andrology, 2010ABSTRACT: Early surgery has been recommended by most authors for fractured penis. Because of gross swelling of the penis, early surgery might have to be performed with an extensive degloving incision of the penis to enable better exposure. We report a case in which the man presented late with deformity and pain.

Delayed repair of the ulnar nerve
The Journal of Hand Surgery: British & European Volume, 1985The case of a fifteen-year-old child where the delay between division and successful repair of the ulnar nerve was nine years is presented. This case and a review of the literature emphasise the importance of repairing nerves in children irrespective of the time interval between division and repair.

Mitotic delay and repair in human lymphocytes
Mutation Research Letters, 1983It is widely known that ceils irradiated with X-rays undergo a slowing of the cell cycle. This occurs at any stage of the irradiated cell cycle, and, in addition to the irradiated stage, always involves the G2 phase. The mitotic delay observed when G2 cells are irradiated has been studied extensively and it has been observed that there is a point in G2

On Standby Redundancy with Delayed Repair
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1975This paper derives a) the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the time-to-system-failure distribution, and b) the mean time-to-system-failure. The system consists of several elements with one repair facility which remains idle until a queue of failed units is built up.

Delayed Venous Repair for Distal Phalanx Replantation
Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2012Vein anastomosis is the most important factor determining the success in the replantation of distal phalanx amputations. It is very difficult to find the collapsed veins and to perform vein anastomosis immediately after arterial repair. We have chosen to delay the vein repair between 30 minutes and 1 hour to give time to the veins to expand to a more ...

Exchangeable Items in Repair Systems: Delay Times
Operations Research, 1988We compute the delay time distribution for a customer who delivers a failed item to a repair system, when the items are exchangeable and the customer accepts any repaired item that is offered when he is at the head of the customer queue.
