Quantum deletion: Beyond the no-deletion principle [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2005
Suppose we are given two identical copies of an unknown quantum state and we wish to delete one copy from among the given two copies. The quantum no-deletion principle restricts us from perfectly deleting a copy but it does not prohibit us from deleting a copy approximately.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Coordinate Deletion of Zeroes [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2019
For a family $A\subseteq\left\{ 0,\dots,k\right\} ^{n}$, define the $\delta$-shadow of $A$ to be the set obtained from $A$ by removing from any of its vectors one coordinate that equals zero. Given the size of $A$, how should we choose $A$ to minimise its $\delta$-shadow?

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

ALU transposition induces familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesMolecular Genetics & Genomic Medicine, 2020
Background Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is characterized by left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in the absence of predisposing cardiovascular conditions. Pathogenic variants in at least 16 cardiac sarcomeric genes have been implicated in HCM, most of

Effects of copy number variations on brain structure and risk for psychiatric illness: Large‐scale studies from the ENIGMAworking groups on CNVs

open access: yes, 2022
The Enhancing NeuroImaging Genetics through Meta‐Analysis copy number variant (ENIGMA‐CNV) and 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome Working Groups (22q‐ENIGMA WGs) were created to gain insight into the involvement of genetic factors in human brain development and ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Real-time PCR based on SYBR-Green I fluorescence: An alternative to the TaqMan assay for a relative quantification of gene rearrangements, gene amplifications and micro gene deletions

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2003
Background Real-time PCR is increasingly being adopted for RNA quantification and genetic analysis. At present the most popular real-time PCR assay is based on the hybridisation of a dual-labelled probe to the PCR product, and the development of a signal

C-C Chemokine Receptor 5 and HIV: Therapeutic Potentials of the Δ32 Base Pair Deletion

open access: yes, 2011
The human immunodeficiency virus, a retrovirus discovered in 1981, has reached pandemic status worldwide. Without an existing cure or vaccine, a majority of the world’s population remains at risk for infection and more than 35 million people to date have
