Evaluation of Alkaline Delignification (Naoh) of Açaí Seeds (Eutherpe Oleracea) Treated with H2so4 Dilute and Effect on Enzymatic Hydrolysis

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Ethanol production from lignocellulosic residues from agriculture, such as the acaí seeds, have a fundamental step, delignification. This step becomes is more effective when performed in combination with others pre- treatments, preferably with those that

Improving Reaction Selectivity with NaOH Charges and Reaction Time in the Medium Consistency Oxygen Delignification Process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2020
As more delignification is targeted, fiber degradation becomes a main issue in the pulping process. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is highly related to pulp quality in the medium consistency oxygen delignification process.

Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Catalyst system investigation in biomimetic delignification of oil palm empty fruit bunches

open access: yesCase Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering
Biomimetic delignification of oil palm empty fruit bunches with the bio-inspired chemical catalyst system was investigated by mimicking the ligninolytic enzyme's redox mediator formation, i.e., Mn3+ and H2O2.

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

High Selectivity Oxygen Delignification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Project Objective: The objectives of this project are as follows: (1) Examine the physical and chemical characteristics of a partner mill pre- and post-oxygen delignified pulp and compare them to lab generated oxygen delignified pulps; (2) Apply the chemical selectivity enhancement system to the partner pre-oxygen delignified pulps under mill ...
