Envisaging Data Nirvana: A Delphi study of ideal data culture

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract In recent decades, the proliferation of data and advances in information technology have led organizations to value data more highly and aim to build a data culture that is suitable for promoting and sustaining data‐related strategic outcomes. However, what a “good” data culture comprises is often expressed abstractly and there is no consensus

The Delphi Technique in Educational Research

open access: yesSAGE Open, 2014
The Delphi Technique has been useful in educational settings in forming guidelines, standards, and in predicting trends. Judd lists these major uses of the Delphi Technique in higher education: (a) cost-effectiveness, (b) cost–benefit analysis, (c ...

Consistent Measurements of alpha_s from Precise Oriented Event Shape Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesEur.Phys.J.C14:557-584,2000, 2000
An updated analysis using about 1.5 million events recorded at $\sqrt{s} = M_Z$ with the DELPHI detector in 1994 is presented. Eighteen infrared and collinear safe event shape observables are measured as a function of the polar angle of the thrust axis.

Mission drift in qualitative research, or moving toward a systematic review of qualitative studies, moving back to a more systematic narrative review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The paper argues that the systematic review of qualitative research is best served by reliance upon qualitative methods themselves. A case is made for strengthening the narrative literature review and using narrative itself as a method of review.

A framework for understanding the factors influencing pair programming success [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Pair programming is one of the more controversial aspects of several Agile system development methods, in particular eXtreme Programming (XP). Various studies have assessed factors that either drive the success or suggest advantages (and disadvantages ...

Education about deprescribing for pre‐licensed and licensed healthcare professionals: A scoping review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Deprescribing is complex because it involves patients' health, values, and preferences. The World Health Organization and Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network have recommended that deprescribing be integrated into health curricula, prompting the need for further understanding about deprescribing education.

Appraising the visibility, relevance and impacts of clinical pharmacology

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Clinical pharmacology (CP) used to be a strong medical and scientific field, but during the last three decades it seems to have lost some of its appeal. We reviewed the visibility, relevance and impact of CP and clinical pharmacologists across the globe and suggest ways to strengthen the discipline to address future pharmacotherapeutic challenges.

Search for Charged Higgs Bosons in e+e- Collisions at sqrt(s)=189-202 GeV [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett.B525:17-28,2002, 2002
A search for pair-produced charged Higgs bosons was performed in the high energy data collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP II at centre-of-mass energies from 189 GeV to 202 GeV. The three different final states, \tau \nu \tau \nu, c \bar s \bar c s and c \bar s \tau \nu were considered.

The Delphi method—a complement to research

open access: yesFire and Materials, 1982
AbstractIn making fire safety decisions the designer often finds that some input variables concerning his problems are chance variables. As detailed statistical data are rarely available the designer must rely largely on his expert judgment. With the application of the Delphi method such decisions can be optimized and formalized.
