A Driving Technique for AC-AC Direct Matrix Converters Based on Sigma-Delta Modulation

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Direct conversion of AC power between three-phase systems operating at different frequencies can be achieved using solid-state circuits known as matrix converters.

Description of a 2-Bit Adaptive Sigma-Delta Modulation System with Minimized Idle Tones

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
A 2-bit adaptive sigma delta modulation system that inherently eliminates the idle tones present in conventional and other adaptive sigma delta systems is described.

A High Performance Delta-Sigma Modulator for Neurosensing [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Recorded neural data are frequently corrupted by large amplitude artifacts that are triggered by a variety of sources, such as subject movements, organ motions, electromagnetic interferences and discharges at the electrode surface. To prevent the system from saturating and the electronics from malfunctioning due to these large artifacts, a wide dynamic

Model-based predictive adaptive delta modulation

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents a new technique in digital communications that is called model-based-predictive adaptive-delta-modulation (MBP-ADM). MBP-ADM uses system identification tools to identify a model of the signal which is used for prediction.

Force feedback linearization for higher-order electromechanical sigma-delta modulators.

open access: yes, 2005
A higher-order electromechanical sigma–delta modulator can greatly improve the signal-to-noise ratio compared with a second-order loop that only uses the sensing element as a loop filter.

Some Characteristics of Broadband Delta-Sigma Modulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
This paper presents an analysis using correlation techniques of an idealized Delta-Sigma Modulation system. An analytical assumption of errors with a marginally Gaussian distribution is shown to yield accurate results for broadband modulation with a ...

Second-order sigma-delta modulator in standard cmos technology [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2004
As a part of wider project sigma-delta modulator was designed. It represents an A/D part of a power meter IC. Requirements imposed were: SNDR and dynamic range > 50 dB for maximum input swing of 250 mV differential at 50 Hz.

A Miniature Pockels Cell with Novel Electrode Geometry

open access: yesSensors, 2009
This paper discusses important elements of the Pockels sensing cell design. A novel electrode geometry is analyzed in order to obtain maximum sensitivity response from Pockels crystals (Bi12GeO20). This neither transversal nor truly longitudinal geometry,

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
