Fan‐Delta, Braid Delta and the Classification of Delta Systems

Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 1991
Abstract This paper mainly discusses the origin and depositional features of fan‐deltas and braid deltas. Fan‐deltas are storm discharge‐dominated, while braid deltas are usually flashy flood‐dominated. The two types of delta, like common deltas, were reworked by marine processes. Delta systems are classified into nine delta types on the.basis of.

Hierarchical Bayes approach to adapting delta- and delta-delta cepstra

2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2002
In most adaptation schemes, when a limited amount of data is available, the estimation errors affect the feature coefficients which have a small dynamic range i.e. delta and delta-delta coefficients. On the other hand, adapting only the cepstral coefficients compromises the performance when large amounts of data are available.

Delta-hepatitis

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 1995
Investigations were conducted for serological evidence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis D virus (HDV) infections in children suffering from acute viral hepatitis. A total of 52 serum samples were analysed by enzyme immunoassay. Of these, 18 (24%) were positive for hepatitis B virus markers and 34 (65.4%) were negative. Delta virus infection was

Exact results for the nonlinear diffusion equations delta u/ delta t= delta / delta x(u-4/3delta u/ delta x) and delta u/ delta t- delta / delta x(u-2/3delta u/ delta x)

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1991
The author exploits local and non-local symmetries of the two equations of the title and of some related equations. Some new exact solutions are derived and some specific boundary value problems of physical significance are considered.

Pediatrics at the Delta

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1961
To have a captive audience like the present one, no time clock and no possibility of rebuttal from the floor, is a rare and nonrecurring opportunity. I want to make the most of it. Last May, our then president, Dr. Levine gave us a timely and stimulating address entitled "Pediatrics at the Cross Roads." 1 I shall use a different metaphor—"Pediatrics ...

Delta phalanx

The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, 1996
The authors present a case of congenital, bilateral, symmetrical, and purely transverse plane, abductus deformity of the second digit. The deformity appears to be familial in nature, although other possible etiologies remain including premature closure of the distal-lateral epiphysis of the middle phalanx, or a C-shaped epiphysis of the middle phalanx.

DELTA PHALANX

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1964
1. Delta phalanx is a rare congenital abnormality not to be confused with other forms of angular deformity of the phalanges. 2. The deformity needs radical treatment by repeated surgery because there is no tendency to spontaneous correction and growth of the phalanx is prevented by the epiphysial deformity.

Fan-deltas and braid deltas: Varieties of coarse-grained deltas

Geological Society of America Bulletin, 1987
Two types of coarse-grained deltas are recognized: fan-deltas and braid deltas. Fan-deltas are gravel-rich deltas formed where an alluvial fan is deposited directly into a standing body of water from an adjacent highland. They occupy a space between the highland (usually a fault-bounded margin) and the standing body of water. In contrast, braid deltas
